My vote goes to Nowitzki though. He gives 100% night in and night out for one of the best teams in the league.
The MVP race will come down to Nash and Dirk. They are the leaders of the best two teams in the NBA. We've seen their value time and time again, on the court and in the lockerroom they make the Mavs and Suns what they are.If I were to pick next 3 candidates:Kobe Bryant, if the Lakers would perform better on a consistent basis he would've more of a value in this argument. However injuries do happen.Tracy McGrady, he took the Rockets on his back and really turned around a franchise that had been swarmed by injuries the past two years.Tim Duncan, late in his career he's still making the Spurs contendors. If TD isn't considered a legend I don't know what is.

Yeah, Dirk with the slight lead, hope he grabs it. Haha, at Stephen A voting for Dirk, he always seems to bash Nash.where did you get that voting update ASU?
Someone posts it on another forum. I'll ask him. I know some of them were right from an article on ESPN so I'm assuming.

Last year Nash finished behind Dirk, Kobe, and Lebron among espn writers, but #1 overall.
This topic, again, is stupid. The #1 team the whole season has been the Mavs. So give it to their leader and best player. Obvious.

Obvious.</div>that's the traditional definition of most valuable player, the question is should that definition be changed.Statistically, Nash, Dirk, and Duncan are all worth about 25 wins to their team, In other words if they were removed their teams would win 25 less games. Statistically speaking Gilbert Arenas and Kevin Garnett are more valuable as their team has more of a dropoff when they are out of the game. The question in this thread, a thread asking for five candidates, is whether one can be an MVP if their team wins 35 games, if their team would have won 6 games without them. Now I personally think Nash should be MVP, but just saying......

I just think the MVP should go to the 'best' player in the league....I'm not going to discredit a guy because his team isn't as talented as anothers.

I think the award shouldn't automatically go to a player from the top team. It also should just go to the best player either though. Its called MVP not player of the year, players can be extremely valuable to their team and it's set-up but not as good as other players.

Do all of those people actually have a vote? I can't bring myself to believe that morons such as Greg Anthony and Bill Walton actually have a vote :no3:
