I didn't think there was any real proven bigs left, so I settled on taking the Iranian Giant that played good in the Olympics. He should be a good big body to throw out there when my guys get in foul trouble and think he can be a Jake Tsakalidis like big minimum right away.
I've seen him play in person, he was pretty great. And I've seen him a few times on TV. He's better than Darius Songaila. I wouldn't start him over Foster in that lineup, though. I guess I have a bit of favoritism towards him, too.
You don't remember this past season, when Richard Jefferson was selfish, took too many dumb shots, and didn't play defense
nobody on the Nets came to play this past season. When you are on a losing team you get a reputation of being selfish. R.J never had that reputation before. Last season was a mess no matter what R.J did the team still wasn't going to win much
so Jefferson has helped his team make the playoffs every year hes been a net. He has always been in the shadow of Kidd,Martin and than Carter. One year he has a down year defensively and the team doesn't make the playoffs, so ur all on him like he was always a bad selfish player
The Nets have gotten deep into the playoffs the past few seasons besides last. yes they were inconsistent during the reg. season but Jefferson always played hard on both`ends. One bad year when the team sucks he slacks off a little give him a break. He also picked up his offense last year with Carter slumping. Night in and night out he still gave 40+ mins
RJ hasn't played hard on both ends of the court for several seasons. Starting with the season where Kidd missed the start of the season because of MF surgery. RJ didn't pick up his offense last season, rather he became a bigger ball hog.
Final Barneys C: Eddy Curry / Etan Thomas / Birdman PF: KG / Diaw SF: Artest / James Jones / Batum SG: SJax / Stackhouse PG: Stuckey / Jason Williams I'm fairly happy with this team. Essentially, it is just crazy enough to work.
my team is done and its looking good. PG- Mike Bibby/ Sebastian Telfair SG- Paul Pierce/ Rashard Mccants/ Willie Green SF- Gerald Wallace/ Tim Thomas/ Antoine Wright PF- Amare Stoudemire/ Andray Blatche C- Jeff Foster/ Josh Powell The starters are among the top in the draft. Led by Pierce and Amare, Wallace becomes an excellent third option. Bibby is a gamer who knows how to lead a veteran offense. Hes going to get a ton of open 3s on this team too. Foster loves to do the dirty work on both the offense and defensive glass. The bench IMO is the best in the league. Telfair seemed to finally mature and had a 3.2-1 t.o-asst ratio which was 10th in the league. He averaged nearly 6 assists a game on a terrible team last year. Mccants is a scorer he can score anyway he wants. Willie Green is also a good scorer and being the third SG off the bench thats just incredibly depth. Tim Thomas can play the 3 and 4. He can stretch the floor and shows up in big games. Wright is more of the 12th man off the bench. His main job is to defend in spot minutes unless injury. Blatche is a great developing big man who can already block shots, rebound and score and hes only 21. He can play the 4 and 5. Powell is just a tough center who will do the dirty work like Foster. Hes a banger who given minutes will produce. With Mccants and Green coming off the bench it gives Pierce rest or it allows Pierce to slide over to SF when needed. Thomas will see time at PF to give some scoring off the bench in the front court. Gerald Wallace can also see time at PF and Amare can see time at C. The team just has a ton of flexibility when making lineups and in game situations My team is made up of hard nosed players who play hard. The star power with Bibby, Pierce, Wallace and Amare will be hard to compete with. My offense is probably the best in the league if you figure in my starters and bench. I don't see many teams that can compete with mine in this league. I want voting to start soon
Wait....are we considering the forms of these players from a few years ago? Bibby has been trash the last 2 years and isn't a star anymore, he's barely a starter anymore. He'll have a good game every once in awhile, but he's definitely not even close to what he use to be anymore. Foster is good for 24-28 minutes, so does that mean Powell is gonna play the other half of the game? Best bench..pff it just brings scoring and has no D at all. I feel my bench is just as good and I'm not gonna go out and say they're the best. Only hardnosed guys you have too are Foster, Powell, & maybe Antoine Wright, besides that, your team is a bunch of pre-Madonna's
Last year Bibby averaged 14pts 6 assists. The year before he averaged 17 pts and about 5 assists. Ok those may not be all star numbers but I'll take that any day with him being the fourth option on the team. This team won't need him to go back to his 18-7 days. Keep in mind he wasn't 100% last year due to injuries. Powell will not be getting the other 24 minutes because Blatche can spend time at center. Amare can spend time at center and Thomas could move over to Pf. Gerald Wallace can even play PF with Amare at Center. The team has many possibilites. Telfair, Mccants, Green, Tim Thomas were basically all full time starters last year and I have them coming off my bench. Look at their numbers they all produce too. If this team doesn't get deep into the playoffs there is something seriously wrong. Pierce, Wallace and Amare all in their Prime? Are you talking about my bench having bad defense??? Look at your bench. My bench can score and whenever you have a good scoring bench good things happen
by the way Powell had a horrible first half last year when he only averaged 13.30 mins in 32 games. But in the second half he averaged 24 mins and averaged 7.4 pts and 7 rebounds in 32 games. Thats nothing to laugh at. So actually I really wouldn't mind giving him 24 mins at center.
