You know I see a lot of folks counting players out when it is really early, saying there is no way they make the all star team for this reason or that reason. The facts are, if you perform well the coaches will vote you in, even if it is on the 2nd unit. Hell that is how Roy has got in every year.

So basically, a lot of this is going to come down to the success of the team. Right now a few teams are doing well, and making the news a lot more. That is nothing that a good win streak cannot do to put Blazers in the news.

LaMarcus Aldridge is really going to have to pick it up if he is going to have any chance to making it. So far, he isn't doing any more or any less this year to seperate himself from the competition. I'm not sure it really matters to him either.

The Blazers are going to have to pick it up if they hope to have more htan one All-Star. This team will have to move into the top three in the west if they want to get either LMA or Oden in the game.

Yep, but if you have watched Lamarcus like most of us have over his career, he is a slow starter every year. Hopefully he will pick it up sooner, rather than later this year. The way I look at it, having multiple games against bad opponents is a really good way to get your confidence oozing. With some luck, that will carry over.

Duncan has NEVER been to an all star game as a center.

I know, but he's been playing center for the past 4 seasons. It boggles my mind that he's not on the ballet at center.

Blazers make NBA All Star Ballot

Its time for our Blazers to get the shaft again in the NBA all star voting. ROY will probably get voted in by the coaches AGAIN. I am thinking that ODEN will get picked 3rd in voting for centers in the western conference. Oden will then get voted in by the coaches.

I hate the all star voting system as Blazers don't get any respect as usual.

Re: Blazers make NBA All Star Ballot

There's no reason for any Blazer to get voted in. Roy is not one of the top two guards in the conference, Aldridge is not one of the top two forwards, and Oden is not the best center. They're all good, but none of them should be starting in the all-star game.

Hmm... Roy will most likely get in. LMA MIGHT get in. He'd get in over David West (maybe take West's spot from last year) if we are doing well (it looks like NO isn't/won't be).

Miller is good, but he won't have the stats like he has had recently, and the West has Chris Paul, Steve Nash, Deron Williams, Chauncey Billups, etc..

Oden's only shot is if they don't move people like Nene, Al Jefferson and Tim Duncan to the Center position. Because him and Bynum MIGHT be the 2 centers picked if they go by natural position. But that is unlikely. Greg just has to keep playing well and try to be averaging a double-double by the all-star break. Even then, Kaman, Camby, and others would probably be picked over him. And even if Greg is better than Drew, Bynum plays in LA, so he'd probably get more fan votes.

Roy will probably get in through the coaches.
Oden has no shot. Ok....maybe a 5% chance.
I don't see Aldridge beating out Dirk, Durant, Melo, Pau, Amare (assuming he's balloted as a PF)

Waiting to vote again for today. It seems they have upped their technology to catch the folks who vote and make it harder. Last year you could cruise to the NBA page and vote each day no problem, but this time I got a warning stating I had to wait 24 hours before voting again. Slackers!

Re: Blazers make NBA All Star Ballot

Amare is on the ballot as a center. But Duncan is on the ballot at a forward. I don't think Aldridge has a chance.

For Oden to have a chance, he's going to have to go on a real double-double tear with great defense. He won't get voted in, but coaches may pick him over one of Bynum/Jefferson/Biedrins if he has equivalent numbers but better defense. I assume Amare is a lock.

All right finally got to vote. I figure I should be able to get a couple hundred in off of each computer/email address I have. Its not much, but if a bunch of folks did that it could add up.
