- Spanish possession leads to a corner. Xavi will take it, Iniesta opens himself up for a short option. Puyol contorts himself to flick the ball on to Capdevilla on the back post. Any touch would have sent the ball goal-ward, but Capdevilla whiffed on it.

- Casillas plays the ball to Puyol, but Puyol wanted nothing to do with and sent the ball out, cross field. Dutch possession leads to Robben taking another low, strong shot, but saved and handled well by Casillas.

- Sergio Ramos is looking dangerous again. He cuts inside near the 18 and gets taken down by Van Bronckhorst while trying to play a quick 1-2 with Pedro. Yellow for Gio, dangerous free kick for Xavi.

- Stekelenberg sets up four in the wall. Xavi is looking shot all the way, bending it around the wall, but well wide of the goal.

- Robben with another run, tries to find Sneijder at the top of the 18. Cut out by Spain and leading to a quick counter. Villa goes out wide and finds Xavi in the middle for a pass. Heitinga's back foot catches Villa, who makes a meal of it for sure. Heitinga gets a yellow, but I'll stop pretty well short of saying he earned it. There was a foul there, but not a whole lot in it.

- Iniesta with a bit of a poor challenge and leaves his foot in long enough for Sneijder to run into it. Dutch free kick goes long and find Heitinga who sends it back across the goal. It was already blown offside though.

- Jesus Navas' spooky eyes have entered the match, with Pedro coming out.

- Kuyt with a cross in from the right, Van Persie gets his head on the ball, but Puyol was there to put him off balance and the header goes high and wide. Pique apparently got hit in the head somewhere and was down, giving Martin Tyler time to share with us that Puyol keeps his hair long to cover his ample ears.

- Spain lose possession and Sneijder sends Robben in and open on goal. Iker comes well out to shorten the space for Robben. Robben shoots, but Casillas makes the save with his foot. Iker was going the other way, but nicked the ball with his foot to send it wide. Best chance of the match thus far.

- Xavi fouled by Robben. Van Bommel follows up with a clearance attempt right into Xavi's chest. Spain have dominated possession in the second half, but the Dutch defense is just harassing them and not giving any space.

- Dutch win possession and spring RVP down the right side. Slight contact from Capdevilla sends RVP flying. Yellow for Capdevilla, free kick doesn't do much for the Dutch.

- Iniesta Van Bommeled Van Bommel.

- David Villa blows the chance of the match. Navas with a low cross that goes all the way through to Villa after a bundled attempt at defense from Mathijsen. Heitinga comes across to sent the ball out. Spanish corner doesn't result in much.

- Kuyt off for Elia. This could get interesting now.

- Villa and Xavi nearly link up to create a chance for Xavi, but the Dutch sniffed it out.

- Another dangerous free kick. Heitinga takes down Iniesta after he passed the ball away.

- Stekelenberg sets up four in the wall. Xavi and Villa are just outside the right post about 24 yards out. Villa takes it and sends it well wide.

That gets you a yellow card from the Malian official.

- A half chance this time for Spain. Navas lofts a cross to Villa on the far post, but a volley attempt may have left the continent.

- Xavi sets up Villa, but his shot is deflected out by Van Der Weil for a Spanish corner. Corner finds Sergio Ramos wide open and he rocks it over the goal. He had to score there.

- There appear to be various undergarments in a twist here as Van Bommel goes in late on Iniesta and Iniesta trips him on the way back. Both get told off by Howard Webb.

- Another Spanish corner, this time its easily cleared by the Dutch. Spain regain possession and find Xavi still out wide. A cross goes through into touch as no Spaniards were there.

- Iniesta dribbles into the box getting easily around Heitinga. Sneijder ends up in the center back position and makes a brilliant tackle to eliminate the danger.

- Spain back in possession and Robben brings down Iniesta. Quick free kick sniffed out by the Dutch. Haven't seen the possession stats yet, but I wouldn't be shocked to see a 70-30 split in favor of Spain the second half. Possibly even 80-20.

- Robben is in again. Puyol and Pique desperately chasing the play. There was contact there but Robben stayed up. Puyol was lost and ended up on the ground, Robben needed to leap over him, but touched it into Casilla's path and the attack was snuffed out. Robben gets a yellow for vigorously screaming at Webb for a penalty. Had he gone down, Puyol might be going off with a red.

Bravo to Webb for yellow carding Robben for dissent.

- Van Persie sends it wide looking for Elia. Elia has done more defending than anything in his time out. Fabregas is up for Spain and will be entering shortly.

- Fabregas comes on for Xabi Alonso. Sneijder with a free kick, slammed into Navas' chest. Navas was the one-man wall.

- There's the possession stat. 56-44 in favor of Spain. I'm not sure they've been paying attention as there is no way that's accurate.

- Van Persie is played in by Sneijder, but he was off-side and called quickly. RVP continues playing, dribbles around Iker and then sends a slow shot off the far post and out, leading to some giggles in the audience.

I think Spain wins it before penalties.
