I can't imagine what it's like. I mean, you have a man you revere and respect(Lupoi) going to an entirely different school, then Tedford, then Chip Kelly himself.

People must be like, pressuring him so hard on Twitter or Facebook and stuff.

Although, since I'm a Duck fan, I'd say go with Chip, but I'd be happy for whatever school he went too.

    Wow,

UW site trying to sabotage our recruiting? They are saying that Chip is secretly bolting for the NFL and we are out of it for Shaq.

    http://www.uwdawgpound.com/

Naturally there are no sources. Just libel from a team who's better years are far in the past.

    Still, that's some dirty pool...

On one hand, yes, it does make me feel bad. On the other hand, Shaq has easily been the most outspoken top recruit on the West coast, with all the hints in his Tweets, his reaching out to alums of other programs, etc. etc.

Had he just stuck with Cal, it would be over by now. I'm sure it's Tosh who is giving him the migraines, though. The same guy who sold him on Cal is now negatively recruiting against Cal, but Shaq likes him. It won't be easy when Shaq says no to Tosh, and it's probably tearing at him. That said, if he had more life experience, he'd see that his loyalty to Tosh is misguided, given Tosh's own loyalty issues with Cal.

    Zalsa,

Seems to me it's Lupoi who has caused this issue. And I have to say it's pretty classless to come after the kid after moving to a different university. Look, I'd much rather have him in UW, because they simply aren't the threat that Cal can be. But for Lupoi to mess with this kid's head? To pull on him because he know the kid feels some loyalty to him? He clearly has no regard for what's best for the player as a person.

    What an A-hole.

The beauty of this for Oregon is that Shaq can step in and have a good shot at starting for Oregon next year. He'd be able to do the same at UW, UCLA, or Cal, but at Oregon, he'd likely be a freshman starter on a preseason Top 10 team. I don't like it when coaches guarantee things, but in this case, Chip should mention Anthony Pleasant being gone, and Shaq teaming with Boyett in a safety tandem in which both can play FS and SS at times, depending on the formation.

It's long been my belief that there are at least 20 former HS soccer players on any Pac-12 campus who can consistently kick a 40-yard FG with enough practice. Watch intramural flag football and you'll see them. Hell, my brother and I go kicking with our kids at Tualatin HS every New Year's Day, and I made a 34-yarder this year with a two-step approach, and I'm near 40 and kick once a year!

PapaG/MJA, what makes you guys believe Tosh is bashing CAL since his move to UW? He can sell UW without going negative towards Cal. I'm a Husky fan, but grew up watching the ducks, so it's not like I hate Oregon or anything. I just haven't read anything, other than Cal and Oregon fans complaining, about Tosh bashing Cal in order to get recruits to flip to UW. The one kid that has switched so far (I can only think of one) went to UCLA, not UW. It just seems like overreaction by Oregon fans because he went to UW.

Stuff I read on BearInsider from a few Cal verbals who didn't decommit. It's Cal fans who are upset with Lupoi. I don't really care, other than UW now seems to have a bunch of young assistants who are being bonused based on what level of recruit they bring to UW. That's a recipe for disaster, IMO.

Ah, ok. I'm just going off of what I've read from Cal fans posting on Dawgman. I also didn't know about the bonus structure. From what I've seen, Tosh (since that was the big one) gets paid 350k a year (way lower than the initial reports) + 100k signing bonus + 100k if he stays through his full contract.

I was going to pick Boise State, but it looks like they're going to fall to a dark age due to the loss of starters and Kellen Moore. Nothing but 3 and 2 stars. And even some no-stars. Could TCU get into the Rose Bowl if possible next year should USC or Ducks go to Natty?

    Michigan N=23

Brady Hoke took one of the worst D's and made it into a threat, as well as a winning record and Bowl Win. I think with this crop, Michigan could be a Rose Bowl contender, maybe if by God's grace a Title contender if they can knock out Alabama in Dallas in the first game of the year.

    Michigan State N=16

Michigan State may not return to the Big 10 picture in the near future. With their veterans gone, this would be a rebuilding year for the Spartans. It's Hoke's year now.

    Nebraska N=13

Well...if most of Nebraska's starters return, things could be promising for the Huskers. I don't know much about the team to make correct predictions. Probably not a BCS bowl contender.

    Ohio State N=23

    Using Stars
    2 5stars

I think anyone knows the answer to the Buckeye's success. 2 words: Urban Meyer. Although Ohio State is exempt from Bowl games this year(or the next, I dunno), they will be a National title contender give 2-3 years time.

    Wisconsin N=11

    Using Stars
    4 4stars
    6 3stars
    1 2star

    Average: 3.27 repeating

Well...although they lose Russel Wilson, it's too early to tell whether or not Wisconsin can return to the title race. They do keep Montee Ball(who should have declared for the Draft. He's gonna be a bust...) so that helps their case somewhat.

    Big 10 Overall:
    3.434+2.9375+3.4+3.74+3.27/5= 5
    5.5+5.3+5.7+5.8+5.7/5= 5.6

Winner of Big 10. Either Michigan or Ohio State.

    Edit:
So it's just Cal fans being incredibly butthurt over losing a coach. Understandable. Pac-12 North is gonna be a dog fight between UW, Oregon, or Stanford at this point if Tosh revolutionizes UW(which seems unlikely, but hey, no one expected friggin Auburn to make the Natty 2 years ago, and that's all because of Cam Newtown).

Pac-12 south will be a stomp in the Trojans favor. Utah may give trouble but I doubt it because USC Defensive players are akin to SEC Defense. Oh, and Barkley and his weapons.

    lolArizona and ASU.

You know the more the story unfolds around this Tosh guy and the recruiting of Shaq, Ellis and Arik the more I think I don't want the Ducks to be around any of them. When a kid picks a school it's for the team, coach, education, uniforms maybe and even location. Now it seems like Shaq and Arik are following a recruiter that's already sold them both on one school and then bolted for another. How in the world do these kids feel that Tosh is loyal to them and has their best interest at heart?

Tosh is a no prisoner taking salesmen and these kids are prime commissions to him nothing more! That's why UW is paying Tosh 500K to be a "defense line coach" that the Ducks ran all over when he was a Cal for years. I hope these kids parents or high school coaches figure this out and relay it to these kids in a hurry because I'm betting once these kids are where Tosh is... his best friend "GOOD GUY" image to these kids will change in a hurry and off to the next recruiting class he goes!

The Pac-12 comes down to two teams only next year and that's The Ducks and Trojans..... The Happy Trees don't have Luck and we have them in Autzen as do we have the PUPPIES! So it's Chip vs Lamo Kiffen for it all! Lamo doesn't have the football IQ to dual with a pissed off Chip Kelly looking for some payback for a game all Duck fans know we fell asleep in the first half to lose! That wont happen again!

SportsTwo is always looking for new sections to open up and new mods. If you want to start up a USC Football forum and want to mod it I'm sure that can be arranged.

SportsTwo is a lot more laid back with a lot less rules than most sports forums.

from your link... Shaq Thomson still has UW at the top of his list but now says that he may not decide until after signing day. Oregon is dropping out of the race for Shaq which is no big surprise after he was stood up by Kelly last weekend.

Too bad for this Fusky hack that Kelly is batting clean up next Friday as ST's final in home visitor eh? Also, what head coach makes in home visits 600 miles away on the same day he's hosting 4 recruits on Official Visits (answer... none). Kelly was in Tampa on Wednesday. I don't think this guy is sabotaging UO recruiting so much as signing his name to laughably bad speculation dressed up as fact.

I'd really like to have Shaq on the Ducks for his talents, but for the short term I want him to put on an O hat just for the nuclear meltdowns on the UW & Cal boards.

Lol that would be great wouldn't it?

It would take the UW fans and their sanctions conspiracy to a whole new level.
