Shaq is a gifted player and whatever he chooses is fine with me at this point. Getting AA is enough for me!!! We got a 5* badass yall!!! I'm happy!!
If they change their minds at the last minute and go to Oregon, that would be HUGE. We already stole Arik from Cal, now we're stealing right from the SEC and Big 12. Feels good if we can get them. As regards to Shaq, I think we are good at this point, but you can never have too much of a good thing and I hope Shaq decides to come.
so JH pissed off a star kid initially and now is doubling down on that calling him either a liar or welcher. Fucking awesome! STOMP
If some glorified beat-writer's tweets make the difference between him choosing a top-tier program or a mediocre team in a bigger city, then I'm not going to lose any sleep over his decision.
I'm with Ptld on this one. And I'll just come out and say that the only decision this kid could make that would cause me to lose any respect for him is if he picks UW. Nothing to do with rivalry because UW IS NOT A THREAT; it's about being your own man. You can't follow a scumbag like this Tosh guy and be your own man. Just my thought... Also, I think we are targeting J Brooks as a DB, perhaps a sign that the Shaq ship has sailed. MJA
You know we were in Shaq's top 3 (or 4) back in December right? Tosh may swing it in our favor, but it wouldn't be the only reason he comes to UW. His best friend (or so people say) is on UW already too, so that can't hurt.
Look, I appreciate that you like both the Ducks and Huskies. But seriously dude, Cal was a lock till Tosh moved up there. Over the Ducks. Over UW. There was no real #2 team. Tosh leaves, and suddenly UW is a serious contender? Don't be naive about it. He follows Tosh = He is a follower. I've said it before, Shaq is more of a threat to Oregon if he plays at Cal. Even still, at least he will have chosen somewhere because of what he wants, rather than who he wants to follow. And seriously, just man up and realize that UW's recruiting plan centered on stealing another team's recruiting class by paying 500k and a boat for D line coach. I mean, Oregon is getting roasted for paying a scout who supposedly had influence (Lyles) and here comes UW hiring a dude full time STRICTLY because of his influence with high school recruits? So to be clear, if Oregon had hired Lyles as the water boy for 200k, and he had brought recruits with him, there would be no issue? Dirty man. Just dirty. And Shaq knows it. He knows what they are doing. So does his Fam. And that cheesy video montage and board room gag? Are you proud of that??? COME ON MAN!!! Props to AA for being his own man; more for not following that scumbag and falling for sleazy sales pitches from a bunch of bush league hustlers than for choosing Oregon. MJA
Your a good kid PCE, if UW gets Shaq, awesome for you guys. You would get 2 high profile Recruits on both sides of the ball. Shaq on D, Cyler Miles on Offense as QB. Speaking of QBs, how good is Jake Rodriguez, Jeff Lockie, and Mariota? We saw how decent Bennett was at Colorado, but that's friggin Colorado. Thomas did well starting after Masoli left(got them to a Natty in his first year!), so who will rise?
If he stays. I think we get him, but a recent trip to USC is making me worried. Kid is supposedly GOOD. And an offer from USC would be hard to turn down.
Banner to USC. Bummer that USC gets stronger, but I guess they have so many O linemen it's better for Banner to be on the USC bench than in the UW starting lineup. Have to wonder if UW tried more negative recruiting, because this one looked like a near lock for them. Strange. Also sort of funny, when you think about it... MJA
Done Deal. https://twitter.com/JakeWorthen Best of luck to him in 2014, when he finally takes the field and has to block AA! MJA
Without further ado, here's the SEC Recruit rating list! Alabama N=27 3 5stars 12 4stars 12 3stars Average: 3.66 repeating Mode: 3 and 4, bimodal. Rivals: 6.1(3) 6.0(4) 5.9(4) 5.8(4) 5.7(6) 5.6(4) 5.5(2) Average: 5.804 Mode: 5.7 Analysis: It's Nick Saban, them winning a Natty, and being the powerhouse of the SEC. Nothing much to say other than them being a monster and another BCS title contender for another few years perhaps if luck rolls their way. Florida N=21 2 5stars 11 4stars 7 3stars 1 2star Average: 3.66 Mode: 4 Rivals: 6.1(2) 6.0 5.9(3) 5.8(6) 5.7(5) 5.6 5.5 5.4 Average: 5.5 Mode: 5.8 Florida is a shocker. Even with losing Urban Meyer and going 6-6 they have a class that's nearly up to par with Alabama! Look out Georgia, SEC East is gonna be contended in the coming east... Texas A&M N=22 1 5star 7 4stars 14 3stars Average: 3.4 Mode: 3 Rivals: 6.1 5.9 5.8(6) 5.7(7) 5.6(5) 5.5(2) Average: 5.97 Mode: 5.7 Texas A&M did quite well, with their new head coach Sumlin and a stellar recruiting class. No doubt that if they do well in the SEC, they will only attract more 4/5 * prospects. But only time will tell if they have what it takes to compete in the same division as LSU and Alabama. Arkansas N=22 2 4stars 19 3stars 1 2star Average: 3 Mode: 3 Rivals: 5.8(2) 5.7(8) 5.6(9) 5.5(2) 5.4 Average: 5.6363(repeating) Mode: 5.6 Analysis: Arkansas is a wild card. Whether or not they can do as good as they did last season is up to question. Their only loses come to LSU and Alabama and only time will tell if they can stand up to them next season with this decent, yet by SEC standards mediorce, class. Auburn N=15 9 4stars 6 3stars Average: 3.6 Mode: 4 Rivals: 5.9 5.8(8) 5.7(4) 5.6(2) Average: 5.753 Mode: 5.8 Auburn is looking strong this year. Last season they lost Cam Newton but with the experience from last season, added with this new crop of recruits spells good news for the Tigers. War Eagle. Georgia N=16 1 5star 5 4stars 9 3stars 1 2star Average: 3.375 Mode: 3 Rivals: 6.1 6.0(3) 5.9 5.8 5.7(6) 5.6(2) 5.5 5.3 Average: 5.75 Mode: 5.7 Georgia's recruiting class looks much weaker than Florida's, and I think Georgia will be in a rebuilding season or two. But hey, who knows, the Bulldog's future is uncertain. LSWho, wait I mean't LSU N=20 9 4stars 10 3stars 1 2star Average: 3.4 Mode: 3 Rivals: 5.8(9) 5.7(6) 5.6 5.5(3) 5.3 Average: 5.7 Mode: 5.8 LSU, even after being embarassed in the Natty, look to have a strong recruiting class for the future, their stats are similar to Flordia's, Alabama, and Texas A&M's. Winner of the SEC East: Alabama/LSU Winner of the SEC West: Florida. Winner of SEC overall:???? Thank you for your time
Updated USC and Oregon stats! USC N=13 2 5stars 9 4stars 2 3stars Average stars: 4 Average Rivals: 5.87 Mode stars: 4 Mode Rivals:5.8 Zach Banner coming to USC leapt their averages even higher than Alabama's! Beware SEC, we got a Natty contenders here in The City of Angels. Oregon N=19 9 4stars 9 3stars 1 2star Average Stars: 3.42 Average Rivals: 5.71 Mode Stars: 3 and 4 Mode Rivals: 5.8 Well then, while the North will belong to us, the Pac-12 is gonna be a dogfight between the Quack Attack and the Men of Troy. Ducks have more 3stars, but USC has 2 5star O-linemen. And if Kyle Murphy goes to USC, that makes it 3, and UO chances for a Rose Bowl or a Natty is questionable.
Lots of Aggie fans are saying Bralon Addison is a Duck. They are citing 247, but I am not a member so I can't confirm it there. http://twitter.com/#!/Recruitocosm http://twitter.com/#!/BmtAgSAF This would be outstanding. His highlights are stunning! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFlnXBlbw3s Incredible acceleration! Here's hoping this proves true! MJA UPDATE: something is going down anyway... https://twitter.com/JHopkins247
Hot damn that kid is fast. He's a Darron Thomas 2.0, but better perhaps. Come to the Dark Side Bralon! Feel it's power!
Not UO news, but Cedric Dozier verbaled to Wazzu today, and apparently skipped his trip to UW last week. Cal got hosed on that one.
