with the new CBA you have to spend a high % of the cap. last year was 85% this year will be 90% next year 95%. So the GSW were looking at the end of FA with capspace they had to use so they did

he also thinks he has good enough fundamentals to teach a basketball camp on them. He is just nuts.

He has no idea what's going on when he's in the game. All he knows how to do is jump

Interesting, he has a near 9'2" reach -- maybe he can play a stretch-5 in the right system. Any idea of what he'll command?

The few times I've seen Ilyasova play he just shoots almost every time he touches it, whether he's open or not. Maybe it's cause he was on the Bucks or maybe he's just a chucker. I'd had to see more of him to make a decision.

Well he shoots 50% from the field and 45% from the 3. So by all means Ersan chuck away, chuck away.

Illyasova career averages are very very unimpressive for the massive payday he is likely to receive.
10-11 .43% FG .30% fropm 3 with 6.1 rebounds and 9.5 points while playing just 2 less minutes.
Illyasova seems like one of the career year right before your looking for your first big paycheck then never getting back close to those numbers again kind of guy.
He is going to get a lot of money, probably around 8 to 9 mill a year and he isn't going to be worth it.

He's 24 years old and his career pattern of play is heading upwards. He's a double-double, solid defense and can stick the 3 ball with the best in the league. What's there not to like. I'd think long and hard about it, but I think I'd pay him 10 mil before I'd pay Batum that.

As for your crystal ball about his aspirations as a player after he gets a good contract. Baseless conjecture.

From what I've read online it looks like he's going to get around $10m/per

Do you want to pay your backup PF $10m/per or your starting SF that?

You'll have to choose between Illyasova or Batum.

Would much rather pay Batum 10m then Ilyasova. All llyasova really does better then Batum is rebound, as for his freak 3% last year i'm not buying it. Usually a player starts averaging better stats with more playing time, the fact he only got 2m more then the year before avg 27m a game last year with putting up nice stats doesn't inspire any confidence in me. He is an above avg rebounder for a SF but thats about it. Compare Batums career avg with Ilyasova and Batum, Batum is better at everything save rebounding and only avg 4 more minutes a game. Add onto the fact Batum has better handles and is a better defender then Ilyasova and I can't fathom replacing him with Batum. Heck i'd rather draft Barnes then overpay Ilyasova
