+1 on this. I still think his sources are just other people's sources from their "sources tell me"

Well, let's be honest. Is he really putting himself out these with this tweet?

And wouldn't you be shocked SHOCKED if this weren't at least the case?

I just remember the last few trade deadlines, he was throwing out random shit, that he was convinced would go down. He hasn't been right once, but hey who knows, maybes hes moved up in the sources world

It wasnt really a knock on that specific tweet, just his reporting on things in general

No, but I was knocking him.

It's kind of an insult to the common fan for him to throw this shit out there, considering it would be shocking if the info in his tweet were wrong. I would expect that his tweet would apply to all 30 teams in the league (aside from the specific pick numbers).

There are arguably two teams not focused on the draft at this very moment, but even they are probably considering potential options.

If that happens, I'll bet this board will be a shit-storm of unhappy members.

I wouldn't be thrilled, but I wouldn't be upset, either.

    BULLSHIT....

    and Lillard will make #10....

Hey all you Lillard lovers are probably going to get your wish, POR appears to be dumb enough to draft a PG from Weber State over guys from Kentucky, North Carolina, Duke, Baylor, UCONN & Kansas. At #6, he better be one of the best PG in the league in a few years...This team already has 2 failed combo guards on thier bench in Nolan Smith and E-Will, they don't need a 3rd...

Man rooting for this team is like having a fucking root canal....

Why would they when they already got a sweet shooting PG.

    I'll say it again...

If Ross and Jones are available at 19/21, and Wroten's not even in the first round, Uncle Paul's gotta tell Neil to go get 'em.

So, let me get this straight. All these teams are talking about trading up for Lillard. How could that be, remember he's just a garbage guard from Weber St.

It's a ploy to get Portland to bite. Every team in the league is part of the ploy to get Portland to pick Lillard. Even some Portland employees are being paid off to encourage Olshey to draft Lillard.

I will only add this. Who was their coach? How many have proved that they can at least play in the league?

Everyone knows my thoughts on Nate, so I won't bore you all again with that. But really look at the players we selected in the first round?

    Jack 17.9 PER this season
Sergio 14.8 PER his last season. (16.9 with Sacramento)
    Bayless 17.7 PER this season
Patty 21.5 with SA this season

The others are inconclusive because of lack of games. I guess my point is that maybe it wasn't entirely the fault of the player, and under the right coach players could have blossomed? Only one of those was a lottery pick, and I know I will hear about empty stats and what not, but if we draft Lillard and he puts up the numbers Bayless does in 36 minutes, I will be delighted.....and so will everyone else

It all comes down to opportunity. We never truly gave Jack the opportunity to be the team's starter. He got one full season, his second in the league, and then was benched for Blake. People scoff at him and his numbers, but drool over Lowry, who put up similar numbers.

Are ANY of those guys top 1/2 of the NBA PG?

    NO

and nor will they EVER be.....

and I expect the same from Lillard...

Basically, I expect to be once again dissapointed by POR on draft day...just like I was in 2009, 2010 and 2011....A small glimmer of hope b\c of Olshey...but that seems to be fading as each day goes by...

But again, only one of them was taken in the lottery. And Bayless was taken low in the lottery. It would seem to me that if the Blazers do draft Lillard, and he pans out for his draft slot as well as other PG's they have drafted in the first round then we woul dall be pretty damn happy, no? Figure by year two with a real coach.

So let me get this straight. You don't like Lillard?

Interesting that among your list of failed PGs are key players from Arizona and Duke. All of 1 year ago we were acquiring a PG from UNC that we thought was going to take us back to the playoffs...

Hmm, it's almost as if the college these kids played for ISN'T the only determining factor in success!!! How are Drew Gooden, Branden Wright, Jeff Green, Adam Morrison, Sheldon Williams, Shawne Williams, Hasheem Thabeet, Hilton Armstrong, Michael Beasley, Austin Daye, Terrance Williams, Jordan Hill, Johnny Flynn (I could go on) doing???

I'm not necessarily even stumping for Lillard here, but is it REALLY beyond the realm of possibility that the kid was a late bloomer? If you know much of anything about high school recruiting, the top guys are ALWAYS the most physically developed, not necessarily always the best in the end. Once he DID mature he got offers from bigger and better schools but at that point they wanted him to be a role player. Do you seriously not believe in athlete development THAT strongly that it's just completely beyond your realm of comprehension to believe that this kid is the right pick? Scouts like about him is his passion to get better and his work ethic, I'm not sure WHY that's such a bad thing to get excited about??? It's not like the rest of the NBA sees him as a 2nd round pick - every team immediately behind us is HOPING we don't pick him. Apparently the rest of the NBA and all of these scouts are as dumb as the Blazers?

I assume these "guys from Kentucky, North Carolina, Duke, Baylor, UCONN & Kansas" are:
    - Terrance Jones - an undersized 4 or an underskilled 3 with a bad attitude, projected to go in the late teens to early 20s (or Marquis Teague?)
    - Tyler Zeller, John Henson or Marshall? Aren't all 3 of these guys players you'd draft if you were 1 piece away from a playoffs run? We are decidedly not that.
    - Austin Rivers? Really? At 6? He might not even be the best player available at 11.
    - PJ3? Drummond? You're demanding that Lillard be one of the best at his position in the entire league if we draft him WHILE complaining that we wouldn't rather have these guys?
    - Not even really sure where the Kansas comment is coming from... I think we're all in agreement that if Robinson were there (he won't be) that we'd take him... What in the world are you whining about?

And what's with the hate on EWill? Nolan? Sure, he sucks, but Williams - aside from being hurt (if that's your only reason, I get it, think it's premature, but I get it) looked like a pretty explosive scorer off the bench.
