I don't watch college basketball much at all, but based on descriptions of their games (and their comparative height and weight) would Andrei Kirilenko be a good comparison for Anthony Davis?

Both tall enough for PF, but a bit too skinny, both ridiculously versatile and capable of five-by-fives...

You could make a decent argument for it since both can do everything on the floor but anthony is a game changing defender like kg and as good as ak was when healthy he couldnt effect the game the same way defensively that anthony davis is projected to be able to.

I'd love to see wither Beal or Lamb slip to our first pick. Failing that, look to deal the pick for an established guard.

Ummmm, 6'4" is not that small for a SG.

Unless he's a can't miss like Bogut I agree (now).

I learned my lesson from Cole Aldrich, who I thought was going to make an immediate impact. He was dominant in college.

Really? I know it's not tiny, but how many SG's under 6'4" are there that would be worth a lottery pick in the league? Wade is taller, I can think of Gordon maybe?

    Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

Zeller played for NC and not Duke...He certainly had a more refined offensive game than Jeff Withey at Kansas did...He is more of an offensive than defensive player (Withey being the opposite).... Nither of them (or M.Leonard or J.Henson) excite me....

I agree, he is a better defensive player, but a weaker offensive player...as a late first round pick he would be a good pickup....and he is a junior and he might not declare...

I agree with that...Barnes intriugues me as well, I think he will be a better pro than college player...

During the 2000 Olympics Ray Allen measured 6'3.5" (w/o shoes) FWIW.

Gordon, Wade is 6'4", Harden, Monta Ellis, Allen...

Lets wait until the measurements come out, I think Beal will measure 6'4" without shoes. Beal is a strong, lights out shooter with great defense. He's the best SG in this draft IMO.

Outside of Davis, Beal is the one that intrigues me, but only if he measures to 6'5" or taller. Of course, getting Beal would mean that the ball would need to be in his hands, and then we yet again would get to listen to the experts bemoan the boring offense while the team is winning 50 games a season.

Drummond has similar size and athletic ability as a pre-injury Oden. He just needs a lot of development, very raw. As inconsistent as he was at UCONN he still a virtual lock to go #2.

    Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

Unless a miracle happens POR will not get A.Davis, MKG or T.Robinson......

So then you have to look at the rest of the players and out of that group who you like more\think has most potential....

Both Beal and J.Lamb are SG, and good shooters with good NBA size\measureables.... I like either one of them as a choice with the NJ pick for POR.....

Out of the rest it is a real mixed bag....I think Harrison Barnes certainly has a good chance to better pro than college player and is getting a little overlooked....

Sullinger has some intrigue as well, he is more of a below the bucket player, more of a banger, he could potentially compliment Aldridge real well, you woud have to take him in the top 8 likely though....

I don't know enough about McAdoo, but if he declares (same goes for Cody Zeller, who I don't think will) he could certainly be an option as well....

P.Jones is just too boom\bust I think to risk it on

Is Lillard THAT good to take at #5-8? I just don't know....Particularly if POR is going to go after a PG in FA....

I look at POR and think they have 2 big holes...PG & C, that they need to fill and 1 position...SG...that they could use an upgrade...

The team is going to fill one of those 2 glaring needs (PG\C) in Free Agency...So I think it likely they would look to fill the other via the draft, and this draft is rich in big men...more PF than C, but still there are a lot of options to choose from...and the value is MUCH better than going after a FA big man....If you are going to overspend, better on a PG than on a mediocre center IMO....

More that I think about it Sullinger could be an intriguing pick...I'd rather see them get a Beal or Lamb with NJ pick and then address a big or just go BPA with #9-13 pick....

POR could get lucky and get Sullinger with NJ pick (#5-8) and then Lamb with thier own pick (#9-12)...That might be close to ideal IMO....Probably let Hickson go to max capspace to make a run at Deron Williams or Steve Nash as a b\u option...bring Freeland over as a backup big off then bench...even better get D-Will and keep Hickson (and bring Freeland over)

I doubt he will, but it's all about his athletic tests IMHO. If he's under 6'5" but can leap like a mutha, who cares?

Draft express has him at 6' 3.5" with shoes right now. Which puts him at 6' 3" or so w/o shoes. Unless he has grown of course

    Allen is 6'5" without shoes
    Gordon is 6' 2" w/o shoes (tiny)
    Ellis 6' 2.25" w/o shoes
    Wade 6' 3 2.5" w/o shoes
    Hardin 6' 4" w/o shoes

So ya, he is right in there I guess
