I'd say that there's a significant chance one is there at #7. There's been a consensus top-6, with Lillard now in that conversation (as rumors indicate he's going #6 to PDX). If any of the top-6 are available at #6, besides Drummond, I expect Portland to take said player. Then Lillard at #6, then Drummond to #7. Otherwise, maybe GS is trying to get #5. Or potentially we could slide back a spot (if nobody we want at #6 is available besides Lillard or whomever), GSW takes the guy remaining from the consensus top-6, and we get an extra asset.
If MKG drops, which I don't think he will.... I'd have to think Portland would be all over that at #6.
I know they have scouted all these guys to death, but that has to give them a bit of pause if you are at 6 and see MKG on the board. "What does everyone else know that we don't?" Unlikely, but I'm sure they are prepared for anyone dropping. I think Barnes and MKG are still the most likely to drop, but hope both are taken in the top 4.
doesn't GS have the 30 pick? if we still get our guy we should be able to "at least" get that out of them
Not sure if this has been posted.... But nbadraft.net has MKG sliding to #7 and the Warriors. Just updated. Wow.
So I would imagine Olshey has his own draft order, ie Pick these people if they are available. They just cross off whomever gets taken. But, would they continue on that order for 11, or do they have plans specific to who they get at 6. Ie: if we draft Lillard, we draft a SF. If we draft Barnes, then we draft a PG.
I assume, unless someone shocking slides to 11 (or we get a PF/C at #6), we'll be taking Zeller/Henson/Leonard at #11.
I think if they get Lillard at #6, they will be looking to pick Zeller or Leonard at #11... maybe Ross. IMO
Unless you did the mock for nbadraft.net. Kinda suspicious it came out at the moment you were saying MKG would slide.
NBAdraft.net has been on that Mateen Cleves decline. Draftexpress/SwishScout/Sheridan are the way to go.
Yeah, if Waiters or Lamb is there they may have to think a bit. But, that probably makes a later trade more likely too.
CLE after the #2 pick "per Ken Berger: Cleveland wants Beal and has offered the No. 4 pick and either the 33rd or 34th pick to Charlotte for the No. 2 pick, which would allow the Cavs to jump ahead of Washington and land the Florida guard. The hangup is that Charlotte, not in love with anyone available at No. 2, wants Cleveland's 24th pick. Cleveland also has had conversations with Sacramento (No. 5) and Golden State (No. 7), but the Charlotte deal makes the most sense and sources say there is enough momentum and desire on both sides to get it done. The Bobcats like Robinson and Barnes, and at least one of them will be available at No. 4; if Cleveland got Beal with the second pick, Washington might take Barnes at No. 3, sources said."
My sleepers for this draft. Terrence was made for the NBA, with the right coach/system he'll blossom. RipCity!
