I know, I'm currently on the trade-up bandwagon. I think we could put together a package (both picks) that would entice Charlotte or Washington to trade down.
Trading up for Beal would be an error imo. I like him, but I don't think he's worth two lottery picks. There are other players that could be had at 6 or at 11 that might do just as well.
The only way I would was if Drummond convinced me he had a heart and motor and I had to move up to get him. Otherwise I would rather stick with the guys on the board at 6 and 11. Beal is not worth it IMHO.
Outside of Davis, I'm not sure the guy you get at #2 is any better than the guy you get at #6. MKG is very meh to me. Robinson would be my choice if I was going to trade up. Beal is just too similar to other guys that could be had later.
At #2 or #3 you have your choice of Beal/MKG/Drummond -- none of these prospect are likely to be there at #6. But at #6 with my top prospect gone I'm warming up to the idea of Harrison Barnes. His game is better suited for the NBA. His mid-range game would complement Batum nicely and maybe even move Nic to the SG spot full-time.
I get that feeling too. I think a lot of the same things were said about Jeff Green coming out of Georgetown. That he could do a lot of things well, but nothing great. Versatile. Good defender. Etc. I think top five is too high for a glue guy like that. I'm also not sure Beal is worth a top five pick. I'd love to take him at 6, but I wouldn't deal both picks to take him top three. We need inside scoring or explosive scoring on the wing. I'd go Robinson or I'd keep our picks and take someone like Lillard.
MKG is the kind of player that won't show well in the individual workouts. He can't shoot....... his strengths are in the open court. He may fall.
He may. He's the kind of guy that could drop as far as 10th. If Paul Pierce can drop to 10, so can MKG.
I think Robinson is going to be a pretty good pro (like a slightly better David West as his ceiling) but I agree with the other guys; there's just not a lot of super-star potential in this lottery ... it's deep with guys who can probably play, but It seems like a pretty flat "slope"
I think Robinson is going to be 6'10" the same way Kevin Love is: 6'7.75" w/o shoes | 6'9"-and change w/shoes
