Forgetting your obsession with height, it's been relayed now twice in the last few posts that Oregon wants him on the O-Line not TE or D-Line. Specifically they're projecting him at Center

This from a tiptoe that uses a 7 foot center as a jpeg..... Got to love your irony!

6'3 center that's sub 300 may have a time seeing the field as well... but hey we'll see!

So is he gonna get bigger? Because unless he's very explosive I don't see how a 280 pounder can fit in the O-line

most def he will fill out and get stronger as he physically matures. But also will pack on some muscle. Coach Radcliffe gets rid of "unnecessary weight" then builds up with muscle, when they get to Oregon. Take Hroniss Grasu for instance. Per Rivals he was only 260lbs as a recruit. Now he Weighs In at a still lean 294lbs 3 years later.

For my money, the best center in the NFL over the past decade+ has been Jeff Saturday. 6'2", 295. I don't think Brenner's size is an issue.

Oh yes more words of wisdom from the great "in theory" man Stomp.... then there are those who've played this sport and realize just how hard it is to go from a TE and or D Line spot to arguably one of the most if not "the most" technical positions on the field "CENTER" at one of the highest levels in college on a top 5 team in the nation... Something a football guy would quickly throw in when writing and a "regurgitator of other peoples writings and stats might overlook" Not something easily done and further not easy to be great in! If this kid can do it, all power to him and the ducks for making him a stud, but I think this offer has more to do with appeasing the Oregon High School Football quota then really doing much else...And yes you do need X amount of players from your own state so kids in Oregon think they have a shot to play for the Ducks and when something really special does come along here... ie Thomas Tyner the Ducks are his first choice... Smart PR if you ask me.... Further Jesuit has a ton of contributing Duck Alumni so it's all gravy....

That said doesn't hurt that the beavers want this kid too and we could step on little brother again in getting him....

what theories did I pass along? That they offered him at O-Line isn't a theory, it's from quotes from DB himself. Countering your theory that 6'3 280 is too short and light to play at UO, I sited that the current outstanding Center is the same height and was 20lbs lighter at the same age coming out of HS. The only theories passed along were your entertaining thoughts

Now who to trust on the questions/theories of whether 6'3 280 is big enough and/or whether the kid has adequate talent to play for the Ducks... some internet Slypokerdog or Coach Greatwood? Boy thats a tough one, but I'm going to go with the guy who's coached the O-Line at Oregon for 21 years.

another nice fact about the kid is that he's yet another honor roll student

yeesh on his Rivals profile he runs a 4.91 40. Benches 405lbs and squats 550, with a vert of 32, athleticism. Pretty good speed, strength, and athleticism combo!

That's what Doug has said will be his position. That's 3 for the O-Line

I still really hope we get Jaynard Bostwick, he's got us and the Canes as his top two.... Got to say playing for the Canes is a mistake cause their program may be death punched for a few years + the Ducks would crush them now!
