Any chance ATL would be more interested in Hickson and Lopez than Asik in return for a S&T JSmith? They might not want to pay that 15M price tag next year for Asik.

Also, it seems Lopez (as a banger) might fit better next to Horford and Hickson (as a PF with a *slight jumper) might fit better next to Horford.

HOU would still need to find a taker for Lin.

But none of these deals can be finalized til the 10th right? So we could just redirect Lopez to ATL? Two guys on small deals and a frontcourt of Horford, Lopez, and Hickson doesn't seem terrible while they rebuild.

I like your thinking: I presume this is a 3-way where we end up with Asik? Then I would be a very happy camper.

I think they need more of a stretch 4, anyway. Ryan Anderson just makes TOO MUCH SENSE. (Would also explain why New Orleans was willing to dump Lopez.)

    Last summer. Ramon Sessions!

Seriously though in terms of super stars, the local LA media has been saying it has never happened before.

Rockets center Omer Asik has no interest in backing up or playing next Dwight Howard, according to sources. Could force trade.

Omer and Lin for Josh Smith? Hm. Could that be what ATL is looking at?

Odd haul, with Teague already there. Don't know how else it would work.

I like Asik because he's a tougher interior defender and rebounder. He brings that toughness you want in your center.

Lopez isn't bad, but I definitely prefer Asik.

It doesn't really make any difference. It is not about what Houston wants, it is what Dwight wants and Dwight wants his buddy Josh Smith playing with him. That option was a factor in choosing Houston. Portland figured that out and decided to take TRob and Lopez.
