Forget Asik. We've got Lopez for now, and hopefully Leonard for the future.

Time to focus on working something out with Golden State.

Loving all the lakers fans talking about how they are better off without him and how overrated he is.

Lopez is still quite young. I mean, if ML reaches his potential, that would be ideal. If not, Lopez isn't bad for the future. Obviously, it'd be a good problem to have if Lopez builds off his performance of last season and ML develops.

Either acquire real pieces or trade Aldridge

This team is right in the middle of Mediocreville right now. Aldridge is gone.

Which real pieces were you hoping to acquire?

The point is if you can't get those pieces than just trade Aldridge and be terrible. As of right now the Blazers are a .500 team and Aldridge is bolting in two years because just being a .500 team isn't going to make him stay.

Which deal are you worried about?

Robinson was a good pickup. The guy has only played one year and I think still has a ton of potential.

    We drafted CJ.

    Lopez is only 25.

I could still see us trading Aldridge, so give him some time. The free agent period hasn't even officially started yet.

Smith, Asik to PDX via 3-way deal that lands LMA in Houston. Obviously other pieces would need to be included all around. Any takers?

I'm not worried about any of the deals. I've said the Robinson and Lopez deals are good value deals.

That said, those guys aren't keeping Aldridge here. They don't make the Blazers a serious contender. I'm not bashing those deals, I'm just saying they aren't the kind of deals they will propel the Blazers into a contender and keep Aldridge here. They'll play .500 ball and Aldridge will just bolt. I'd rather skip that stage and just trade Aldridge now, get a great haul of young players for him, suck and get a high draft pick next year and continue building to the young roster.

Ultimately I'd rather keep Aldridge, but if he ultimately wants to leave because he's tired of the youth movement (which is what's happening right now), then just trade him now instead of being a .500 team.

It's not a bad strategy if you are willing to give up. What do you think olshey will do?

I'm sure Neil is looking at every option available. Good deals don't just materialize out of thin air. They take time and effort.

I don't think there is a deal right now that would keep Aldridge here. We don't have the assets for it. We couldn't sign a big name free agent outright, we just didn't have the cap space, and I don't think there's really been a trade that was worth getting in on. So I think Neil has done what he should be doing, picking up cheap talent and bettering the team. I honestly feel like Aldridge is gone. I wouldn't be surprised if Golden State trades for him in the next few days. If it's not GS, it will probably be someone else. Either way, I don't think Neil is done making moves.

I just don't understand what Aldridge translates to you? You think he gives a rats ass about big names. Just fucking win and stop you bitching!

Should be a motto for this team since conception

I don't think Aldridge gives a rats ass about anything the team does. I think he's gone. I think he wants out. I think he will leave in two years regardless of what Neil does.
