I think if the Blazers see potential in a younger player like Stiemsma (For example only-I have no idea is he can play) then I would prefer to go that route. If not then I say go for JO.

But I think since Neil has not contacted JO yet that he is keeping a spot open for a younger player who has slipped through and is playing in summer league. (could be at any position)

That's a big problem with teams rebuilding now is forgetting what the vets bring to the table. Especially those that are happy sitting and getting DNP. Those seasoned vets showing the new players the ropes can be as important as assistant coaches.

O'neal would have a negligible, if any effect on POR record\chances for the playoffs this year....At least Withey is young and has potential to grow....better potential than Leonard...

Yeah but we got Lopez for Withey. There may be other players out there at the equivalent of Withey that we can add. (i.e Stiemsma) Then we would have a committee of three to work with including Leonard. But Lopez is better than either. At least for another year.

Is he? I mean his stats look good last year on a really bad team that was bad defensively....The four years prior to that in Phoenix were pretty mediocre\underwhelming at best....

    robin averages an extra block/36
meyers is better at defensive rebounding
robin is better at offensive rebounding
robin turns the ball over more, and shoots worse from the field and the line
    both have almost identical ortg/drtg

Meyers was a terrible defender which stats don't reflect. He's kind of similar to Hickson except he shoots well instead of dunking well.

well, drtg can begin to reflect that

meyers drtg was 110, 3rd worst in the league for a center playing 10+ mpg, so bad he was tied with byron mullins actually

in fact it was a 3 way tie...with robin lopez

Yes he is. Even if it is by default. He has played 5 years in the NBA and even with Phoenix he was playing good D. When he got hurt I remember the Sun's announcers talking about how much it hurt the team.

Rasheed Wallace joining the Pistons as an assistant coach? Holy ish. Will he be the first assistant to lead all coaches in T's?

Dude he called me ****** (no joke). That's how he talked. I used to run into Sheed all the time back when he was a Blazer.
