For one, CJ hasn't earned shit yet.

Also, like said above, I think this would make Aldridge a much better player, but also T-Rob. Miller knows how to feed athletic big men (back door and just entry passes). Leonard and Lopez will be more pick n roll/pop big men that will benefit Lillard and CJ.

And I think there would be enough minutes, if you just try to get Lillard down to 33/34 a game and Matthews down to 28 a night. Why not? Keep guys fresh, who would complain? Miller only got like 24 a game last year, 20 wouldn't be that steep of a descent.

It's only 1 year, and I don't think CJ's development will be all that stalled by getting 15mpg instead of 25.

I think we could get him for Freeland and Crabbe or something like that. (maybe w/cash to pay for Freeland's salary)

I'd like this to be true, but do we have any reason to think the Nuggets want to give him away?

Well they have Lawson, Foye, Miller and Robinson.

Denver has been trying to wheel and deal this summer and there was talk about shedding more salary and going after more players. Miller's name was mentioned (but that was about 3-4 weeks ago)

Trading Dre for Freeland and Crabbe would reduce Denvers cap space next season. I agree if that is the only thing we give up I'd lean towards pulling the trigger. But I think we'd have to give up an additional asset which makes the trade a no go for me.

I just don't see us trading for miller, even though I think he would help us tremendously. Too much bad history. Also I think miller would want at least 20 minutes a game. I don't think we have that many minutes to pass around.

They could get a better deal than that though.

Watson still gets a lot of assists per minute.

He used to win games with his shooting.

    What's the bad history?

I think he was respected here. They thought Felton was a long-term answer at the point (haha) and he turned out to be a huge flop.... or flab...... either way he didn't work out.

Miller would do wonders, and I would love to see him practicing with Dame.

If they would accept Freeland and Harris for Miller I would do that in a second. Have CJ play shooting guard because I think it's pretty clear he's not a point guard. I also think Dame and Miller could play together in stretches.

The bad history was from previous GMs and coaches; but players still have memories. He didn't feel welcomed here, IMO. I think he was just going with the flow during his seasons in Portland. Hell he didn't even get a house. He was staying at a hotel throughout his contract.

Well I don't think that would be a huge problem since most of them are gone. Dude just wants to play, and we desperately need a distributor who can come in and spell Dame, or allow him to move to shooting guard and drop some buckets.

I think Billups would be a better fit for this new team if he was able to be had. Only reason is he's much deadlier from the perimeter and his game resembles a lot like Dame.

Millers beef seemer to be with McMillian and Roy. LA/Batum have nothing but great things to say about Miller and I doubt Mathews would have anything bad to say as well.

I don't see any of the players having problems with Miller. I am thinking miller has a problem more so.

Why would you want to sign another scoring guard? We have Dame and CJ already in that mold.

The bad history is McMillian, Quick, and slaves of the Oregonian, who stuck their noses up in the air because Quick did. Miller got respect only after he left and fans compared him to Felton.

Miller should start somewhere. He may be stuck subbing, but he sure doesn't have to be further reduced to mentoring.

Billups is a leader and did what Dame does. The leadership and mentoring Billups will give Dame could be worth a shit ton. All we need is another guard that can still run an offense and doesn't require a lot of minutes in the process.

Billups is going to sign with a contender. He's not going to want to backup Lillard on a team that will most likely be a 7th or 8th seed.

Didn't say we "will" get him. I was just saying he's probably the best fit for this club.

I think Miller is a better fit because A) we don't have a distributor currently on the team, and B) he would make Dame better. Don't you remember how much better Dame's numbers got after we brought in Maynor? He plays well next to a passing point guard. Billups is not a passing point guard. If anything, Billups is what we're hoping Lillard will eventually become, so having a slower, older version of Dame doesn't really sound appealing to me.
