How can you be proven to be a bust in one year? Robinson isn't THAT bad.

McCollum makes Brooks redundant. Delfino isn't bad though. Still, we have bigger fish to fry. He wouldn't really rank high on the list of FA targets.

More free agent rumblings - OJ Mayo's likely suitors: Jazz, Bucks, Minnesota, Clippers, Blazers, Bobcats, Bulls.

The Blazers will not get fair player to player value for him back in a trade and it will be a step backward just saying.

Don't see it unless we trade Matthews. We already have a lot of SG's.

Don't like his character; but he is much better suited to be that instant offense off the bench:

I'd rather the free agency period start off with a sign and trade deal involving Tyreke Evans and Wes Matthews. After that we could acquire a center. Also, getting Haddadi for his rebounding for a million per would be terrific.

Thought the same. McCollum makes it unnecessary.

I don't understand the fascination with Evans. He's a horrible fit next to Lillard.

Re: [Free agency] 24 hrs away!

Doubt Monta gets anywhere close to a max deal. He'd be lucky to pull 11 mil/year again.

Seems like simple supply and demand. There's elite defenders like Bowen, Battier (in his prime), Allen but its not hard to find athletic wing defenders who can do 80% of what those guys do at a fraction of the cost. Think Danny Green, Jimmy Butler, Sefolosha, Corey Brewer, Avery Bradley, etc. I also think of Ariza, Deshaun Stevenson, and Von Wafer all appearing on successful playoff teams in the recent past, doing quite well and then being let go of by their teams who didn't want to invest big money in them. These are guys you can get in the second round, off the scrap heap, etc. and usually when you put them next to great players and put some time into developing them into D and 3's guys they can pay dividends- but there's no reason to pay them more than 4 mil/year because there will always be more athletic wing players cycling around the league.

On the flip side, there's not a lot of scorers like Monta Ellis around. Hes very flawed but he is an incredible penetrator, an elite fast break scorer, his shooting is good these days. I'm glad hes not on the W's anymore but I'm sure there will be some teams willing to pay him to start or be an uber 6th man.

Cole Aldrich was another big who was finally showing something at the end of the yr with Sac - he'd be very cheap as well

Re: [Free agency] 24 hrs away!

I think he is a great fit next to Lillard because he likes to attack the rim. None of our other SG's seem to prefer that. They mostly like to take 3's or mid-range jumpers. But in reality Evans would probably come of the bench so it isn't that he has to fit specifically next to Lillard. He could come in for Lillard. He has played a lot of PG. Or Lillard could play SG with him.

Re: [Free agency] 24 hrs away!

We don't need that anymore with CJ. Evans can't shoot a lick, so playing him alongside Lillard basically forces Lillard to be the SG.

Re: [Free agency] 24 hrs away!

CJ is better at penetrating then our other SG's but he is not on Evan's level at attacking the rim. He prefers to bomb away as well. If we bring in any SG (Evans or Mayo) it means Matthews is gone. So it isn't likely but possible.
