Confirming what others have heard on Tyreke Evans. 4 years/$44 mill plus incentives.

Yeah it makes no sense because Hickson has become pretty reliable from the mid range area; which is a perfect compliment to Howard. Also, Houston wouldn't have to worry about Hickson's inability to defend as much. I think JSmooth would be a big issue; clogging the paint big time.

If this is the market for this years FA class, I can see why we can only afford Pachulia or Kaman. Good grief.

Which "Smith" are you referring to, Josh? If so, he's a much better player and more in-line with Houston's vision of what they want out of their 3s and 4s in their wide-open style of play.

Well, I think if we offer Kaman a VooDoo Donghut franchise, we just might land him.

Fuck the Lakers and their TV show -- we got donuts!

This is what happens when a million teams have cap space and there aren't many quality players available.

have to agree, let some of these teams shoot their wads with stupid deals and there are often some good leftovers that can be picked up

Are you comparing Hickson to Smith?

Josh Smith like Aldridge is a borderline all-star. Not saying I’d trade them but he is clearly on another entire level from Hickson.

Josh Smith would be a bad player to pair with Howard? I'm not saying Smith is any world beater, but he's more prone to playing outside the paint than in it, which would compliment Dwight needing to occupy the paint, so spacing wouldn't be a problem. Both guys like to play up and down, which would compliment each other. As for Hickson, he makes his living off of garbage picked up around the rim which overlap a lot with Dwight's skillset and spacing would be an issue.

But It would be pretty obvious that Hickson would come at a much cheaper price than JSMooth. Houston couldn't use just Asik. They would need to send another 6-7 million in contracts to absorb cap hit.

What would it matter if Hickson comes much cheaper when he wouldn't fit in?

The problem with Smith is his inability to shoot from the perimeter. And when I mean perimeter; I'm talking mid range.

I will not argue that Josh Smith isn't better than Hickson. I think Smith is a fucking beast, but Smith will demand at least a 13-14 mil contract and Hickson probably around 8 mil. Also, Hickson's mid range game really improved last season.

Sure, in that Hickson's PER was 2 points higher, had double the WS/48, had a significantly lower usage rate, and is 3 years younger. Hickson seems like a better match for Houston than Smith would be, and would certainly cost less too.

    But what do I know?

He absolutely would fit in. He shoots above 47% from 20ft in.

No Kidding. A TV show during the season? Not sure how much focus that leaves for basketball.
If it is in the off season then he can easily do it playing in Houston. He will still have his home in SoCal.

The LA sports talk shows are always using "movies" as a extra benefit to be a Laker. But if you are a star, Hollywood will cast you regardless of where you play.

Josh Smith, however, is a far superior defender.
