USC and Washington only have 7 commits. UCLA has 3 commits. ASU has 5 commits. Stanford has 9 commits. This will end up being the best overall class in Oregon history, I predict. A lot of players in recent years listened to the bullshit that Kiffin and Sarkisian were saying about bowl-bans. Plus, remember this ... Oregon doesn't recruit to 'star' ratings. The funny thing about Sark is that he is wasting time worried about recruits that USC is targeting, since he runs a similar offense. http://www.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=9&c=14&yr=2014
ESPN's updated list for 2014 rankings. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/scorecard/_/class/2014/sort/espn300 Note that all overall lists at this point are also weighted toward number of commits, which is why Pac-12 schools are so low. SEC schools over sign, so some of those schools get inflated rankings due to sheer volume. 247's http://247sports.com/Season/2014-Football/TeamRankings
Thanks guys. I never felt bad per say, just had no idea what was good or not. I see so many others with a ton of commits, so I thought I'd ask Thanks again
it's all good and then some... 36 days until kickoff! STOMP
McGraws up-down process seems to have caused us to possibly open up to recruiting other DB's again NSD not Aug 26th announcement more schools ect. (sorry lockett) We're looking into Nick Watkins, and Keeping tabs with Plattenberg still. McGraw is probably still higher up on the board, but may lose his spot if someone else the staff gets high on convinces them they will be a solid commit.
yup, it's a game of musical chairs with 4-5 DB prospects holding committable offers and 2-3 spots left. The music has stopped playing, who wants a seat? STOMP
I'd rather grab McGraw. Hope he commits ASAP and deters the other guys. On that note, I hope we get another ILB, or is Joe Walker gonna play that? And whats the status on Demetrius Knox?
McGraw going hot and cold on the staff might make him waiting problematic to landing him. (hell we told lockett to go away for him.) Lb targets are Brandon lee Jimmie Swain and JC Edward Muldrow All have interest Muldrow's final 4 Arizona State, Oregon, Tennessee & West Virginia Swains Michigan, Michigan State, Oregon, Stanford & TCU Lee's Louisville, California, Oregon, Northwestern and Virginia Tech
woods to Arizona, good to know that the 247 guys are wrong with their predictions. Also means we've pretty much wiffed on our TE targets barring offering Mondeaux as a TE or getting interest from I wanna be someplace sunny Dixon. So we'll need a new set of offers out or possibly just skip a TE this cycle.
again, thats what Lockett relayed. Oregon may have passed on him for reasons (like personal character) unrelated to the kids they continue to pursue another LB prospect is Vincent Jackson who (according to him) the Ducks offered midway through his Soph year. He's had glowing things to say about the program, but we'll see if he makes it all the way out West for an official new year, same results STOMP
good on him for not being wishy washy and leaving both himself and the school out to dry. Hope he succeeds in whatever he wants to do!
Hmmm. Wondered what happened? Health issue? Focusing on grades? Or another matter? So, with Jordan gone, who are our prime OLB/DE hybrid targets?
Jesuit HS LB Joey Alfieri earns an offer. The talk is even though he's local, he's been a heavy Stanford lean which is why UO hadn't offered earlier. Reportedly he showed great at The Opening + testing out to be one of the elite athletes there, but I'm guessing he must have convinced Oregon that he's open STOMP
having seen so many players switch positions as they transition from HS to college, I don't get too hung up on where the recruiting sites are projecting a kid at age 16-17. At that age guys are often still growing, and of course a good training & nutritional staff can further help a player hone in on a desired body type during their college years. At 6'3 and up to 20 pounds to 230 in the past 9 months with excellent athleticism, Alfieri sure seems like he could project inside... he's right about the same size as Kiko was when he was coming out of HS STOMP
