Mama is a big 350 pound guard, and I think he'd want in on either a Pro-style offense or a school that makes 1st round O-linemen casually. However, if he's mobile and quick for his size, we could get him. We just need a big season to prove we can still win with Helfrich, thus win recruits.
with their returning talent + a favorable schedule, there is good reason to project that Helfrich's first season at the helm will be very successful. We'll see and all, but I'm not too worried about whether top kids will still want to come to Eugene following this season as there are many great reasons to be a Duck. DM being 350 today doesn't mean that will always be his weight as we've regularly seen lineman's weight fluctuate once they get to Oregon. Between their nutritional program and the sorts of workouts they design for each guy, physical changes are the norm. 6'7 Olineman Everett Benyard and Mark Asper spring to mind as guys who at times during their Duck careers were near 350... Benyard came in at 305 during last season. While he may also project well in a Pro Style offense, if Greatwood feels the kid has the ability to excel in his system, thats a pretty good endorsement. Hopefully. If Greatwood has confidence, I believe in him, as well as Oregon's nutritional program. Also, we offered Jon Lockett and Jamal Adams. How are our chances of nabbing Adams from Texas and Choklahoma? Lockett likes Notre Dame too, and I wouldn't blame him, so it will be tough to grab him.
Ducks offer Bama LB Rashaan Evans STOMP
Too bad he'll want to stay at home for either Saban or Malzahn. We get him, I will do the jig in front of a Walmart. Still, nice to see us go after southern prospects.
McGraw may commit after April visit, at least I would not be superseded that happens. Same for Crosby after junior day.
Junior Day is when high school prospects who will become seniors are invited to host like a 7 on 7 and Line drills right?
Ducks offer one of rivals few 5*s from the West, DAT style do it all athlete Adoree Jackson.... SoCal schools are thought to be the favorite STOMP
Isn't LSU in the mix? I think he would want to stay, simply because of the quality of DBs at UCLA, and of course, Under Stanford Control. Stanford could be in the mix as well, but nice to see Oregon take the intiative.
I looked around for some JUCO DTs in 2013 that could use an Offer or two: http://247sports.com/Player/Lauren-Jackson-8142 http://247sports.com/Player/Demetrius-Campbell-22237 http://247sports.com/Player/Jordan-Turner-19860 With shallow depth on the interior D-line, it wouldn't help to offer these boys for 2013. For Juco 2014 http://247sports.com/Player/Risean-Broussard-25184 Just saying. Our D-line needs some help and we have 5 spaces available. Wouldn't hurt to try to get 1 or 2 of these boys.
I'll be surprised if they don't take at least on JUCO DT. True freshman almost always need some seasoning, but Oregon has PT available in 2014. STOMP
PT? What's a PT. They should try to offer one now. There are still some JUCO prospects out there without a commitment and they would love to learn the defense so that next year they can be starters. That's what I'd do. Anyway to talk to couches at all about this?
hehe. Secondary could get mighty interesting, if Ifo, and T-Mitch get good draft stock reviews. That would leave Dior Mathis and Troy Hill. I know the staff is high on Seisay coming in. But could take some time to develop. And one of the Amoako's plays Corner.
Not to mention Adoree' Jackson is interested in USC. He could start right away if Ifo leaves early(people have him as a mid-1st rounder). He's the 2nd best prospect in Cal(or 3rd behind Luatua and Chryst) so nabbing him alongside McGraw would be quite nice.
Wonderful! 247 sports has him as Hawaii's #1 player. This is big time! Glad to have a big Hawaiian like him aboard. Hopefully he can recruit on his own ala Shane Morris.
