Also McLemore can probably be had for cheap right now. Would be a Olshey type move and give you insurance in case some idiotic team maxes out Crabbe.
A little Clutchfans to help you relax (thread on Ryan Anderson, a little over half of them don't like the move): To which pippendagimp replied...
That's kind of what I was thinking, except the "trading" portion of that might be in a few months. Whether it is a sign and trade or a sign and a trade later, it allows us to not have Meyers and get an asset for him.
For real. I'd rather Dieng than Monroe or Vucevic. He shoots over 70% at the rim and has range out to the 3pt line on his jumper. Plus, he's a good, sound rim protector. He's only 26 so he fits are age range and he's an Olshey type of acquisition. If we could sign and trade Meyers for him then we'd have $13M left in space afterwards to continue to add. It'd be easy to go after Gasol or trade some capspace for Millsap.
Is sign and trade even possible nowadays? don't you need to wait till December after you re-sign a player?
No.. that's only if you sign them and don't trade them immediately. The sign and the trade is basically simultaneous. That's how it works.
Has anyone else seen the backlash from Nfl writers about how much Nba players are making this summer? I can't believe someone needs to explain why to them like this
Shit man I guess times haven't changed as much as I thought. Really thought we had a shot at landing Horford when I heard that Boston and Washington were our competition.
Yeah that was really weird. "Celtics rapidly losing hope of signing Horford" then 10 minutes later "Horford signs with Celtics".
