Yeah, I remembered him, just didn't think that he'd make for a big lineup at C. Zaza fills the bill there.
Today is soooo boring. After two days of a little activity, this lack of action is so tiresome. WAKE UP, NEIL! FAMS!?!?!
That Warriors team has been gutted. They've lost a lot of guys who were a big reason for their success the past few years. They've brought in some okay pieces, but it really all depends on their chemistry.
They brought in Kevin freaking Durant to a 73 win team. They'll get over losing Bogut and Barnes and fringe players.
Even if GSW doesn't have a bench, their starters will run up the score so much that they can just coast the rest of the way.
The real question about golden state is health and defense, they've been fortunate lately on health and they lost a few good defenders.
What you call 'fringe players', I call roll players. They've still got two great ones with Iggy and Livingston. But I'm not sold that adding Durant is going to work out as well as everyone thinks it is going to.
Only one player can score on any given possession... Last I checked GSW didn't have a problem scoring...
I don't know.. Durant's strengths are pretty much negated playing off the ball. And is taking away looks from Curry and Thompson a good thing? I don't see how the efficiency of their offense goes up tbh.
When the heat won back to back it wasn't just the big 3, it was the contributions by guys like Ray Allen, Mike Miller, and Mario Chalmers. Warriors still have some pieces to back up their string 4 man group, but the lost a lot of those guys who will do anything/everything out on the court. David west is basically their saving grace. Zaza is a downgrade from Ezeli and Bogut.
Yeah, not sure what KD's role will be exactly. They certainly have a lot of very good players on their team. Time will tell.
They were talking about this during one of the SL games today. Warriors lost a lot of players who were key to their success last season... Barbosa, Ezeli, Bogut, Barnes, Speights...
It will be really interesting to see what happens, but I think any GM would be happy to sacrifice depth to add Kevin fucking Durant to their team. They still have their core pieces and they are going to be able to add as many ring chasers as they want. Losing depth sucks, but any gm in this league would do the same thing, including Olshey.
