It's in the Blazers best interests to talk to prospects, watch them and evaluate them. It doesn't mean they are going to add a pick. But NO has to do his due diligence.

Maker is a quite an intriguing talent, but I agree with whoever said something to the effect that he's an even more-raw Vonleh. It would be several years before he sniffed the court for a really good team. If you think you have your rotation and have a spare roster spot, though, Maker's a lottery ticket that could pay off big time down the road. But I think the odds are better that Vonleh becomes a quality NBA player than Maker.

I hate highlight tapes cause they deceive but Jesus Christ... Maker looks like an unholy mix of Shaq and Durant..

In his combine interview he actually touched on this. He hates mixtapes, focuses on fundamentals.

Whomever lands him will have to be patient. If you think Vonleh is raw...

I'd be okay taking a flyer on him if the price was low.

The Draft Express video with Maker's weaknesses illustrates it pretty clearly. On the highlight tapes he looks smooth making 3s ... on the full tapes he misses a lot of them badly, gets them blocked, etc. Lot of upside but will require a lot of work and a lot of patience.

A 7 footer getting a three blocked sounds so crazy lol not that I'm doubting it.

I've seen a fair amount of mocks which have GP2 projected mid 2nd round. I feel like this guy should be a late first rounder... Does anyone else feel like GP2 slipping to the 2nd round is a steal for whoever nabs him, or do you think 2nd round pick is fair value?

Keep in mind you shouldn't necessarily base a star player on their teams success - Dame didn't even make the tournament at Weber St.

I think he would be a steal but i might be biased. His defense is out of this world. Im not confident he can handle the ball at a nba level or be an actual pg. But i think he would be great next to cj when cj is playing pg. If gp2 can get a jumper, he would he huge value. I still think his defense could evolve into a tony allen like career for him anyways.

He reminds a young Garrnett when he came out of high school.

Ron Baker, the next Luke Babbitt? What we hoped Babbitt would become?

Babbitt has a few inches on Baker, but Babbitt took a while to come into his own. I feel like Baker may be McDermott like in the sense that he could come out knocking them down from day 1. Seems like he could be a decent 3 and D guy with the D probably needing some time to get on par with others around the league.

Given Thon Maker grew up in Australia, and has made it clear he will represent Australia in FIBA; I'd say I'm more invested in him than any of you.

Years ago, seeing clips of a 7' high-schooler crossing over players, and draining threes blew my mind. My hopes were sky high.

I just don't think he has developed his skills enough for the NBA. I think whoever drafts him, will need to be very patient.

Prove me wrong Thon. Please prove me wrong!

I wonder if his brother Matur will declare next year?

Zubac is leaning towards staying IN this draft.

He's a lotto talent that you can get in the mid-first. My 1a/1b favorite target with Ulis.

Along with Maker the Blazers interviewed Prince and Demetrius Jackson.

I like it. Prince will end up being one of the best 3 and D SFs in the league. Mark my words.

Prince will be tough to get as he is projected to go in the late teens/early 20's of the 1st round.

There isn't a center in this draft with his size. Zubac is a widebody at 7'1"-7'2" - and skilled.

The more I look at fellow Dame alum from Weber St, the more I like him in the 2nd round. Bolomboy has some size to him and can jump out of the gym with a 40.5 max vertical. 12.6 rebounds, 1.1 blocks to go with 17 points on 60% shooting from '2' and 34% from '3'.

He should be a top 10 pick. Solid All-Around 3 and D guys like him have a history of being drafted too low:
    K. Leonard(15th)
    J. Butler(30th)
    K. Middleton(2ndRnd)
    D. Green(2ndRnd)
    J. Crowder(2ndRnd)
    W. Matthews(Undrafted)

All those guys should've went top 10 in their drafts. At the time it would've looked crazy to say that for all of them except Leonard, but he should've went #1 overall... Prince will be the next name on that list.

Prince would be good insurance insurance in case we let Harkless go for cap reasons. Him and Crabbe could handle the 40min per game available to backup wings.
