Allen from Texas is going through the process before deciding if going declare for this year draft. It looks like there might be a trend of this year. The kid from SMU doing the same.

Serge Ibaka was a mess at shooting the ball his first 3 or 4 years in the league

It's pretty crazy what he turned into.

Moe Wagner might just have to enter the draft if he keeps this up. Really gifted offensively, but rebounding and defensive issues probably keep him from being a starter. I might take him above Leaf if he does indeed enter. I feel more comfortable about his 3 ball and post/face-up game translating to the NBA level as a small-ball 5 off the bench.

Adebayo has a Ben Wallace type body/motor. Not close to the natural knack for rebounding. I'm not sold he's going to be a huge difference maker, but I like him more than Robert Williams.

I really like Swanigan. Such a great natural feel for the game.

Probably the best I've seen Bell look defensively. He still looks spacey to me but there's no doubt he's had an impact on that end.

Just cant get excited about him when he's 6'8" with avg length, below avg on the defensive boards and a near zero offensively.
Don't let today's post conversions fool you...Moe Wagner can't guard a chair at this stage.

PF. He's undersized, but he's a tough rebounder and defender, with a great motor. Much rather have him than any non starting big we have.

    Well worth a late 1 or buy a 2

I like him too as energy. Kind of reminds me of Ruben Patterson. A little smarter.

Ya. Probably never a star because he's a tweener, but we could have worse......do have worse

I would think about Bell if we traded down our Cleveland pick for two seconds. He has a great motorv and decent instinct, but lacks skill and length.

I'm with you though and think he will stick in the league somewhere.

Mathias Lessort is another small ball big in the Adebayo mold that I like. I'm a little biased when it comes to European prospects, being from there myself, but I do somewhat value them higher because fundamentals are such a focal point, and those guys already know (relatively speaking) what it takes to be a professional athlete. We hear a lot about how Europeans need more time to adjust, but I actually believe the opposite is true. At least on the court that is.

This draft really is seeming like a deep one. Amazing to be the team with 3 first round picks. Hard to complain about the state of the franchise right now.

    Challenge Accepted!!!

Our starting back court is the worst defensive back court in the NBA.

Our new franchise center has already had knee surgery.

Our FA signings are either injured, or injuring others with the bricks he throws up.

    We still have John Holmes.

    Stotts doesn't stress defense.

Olshey has missed on picks in the past.

We are still a tweener team, with no money to significantly improve.

Every year we get closer to the lease running out, and the team moving to Seattle.

    Calabro and Hurd

The fan base is too sensitive.

Did anyone here mention Dennis Smith from NC State? A score-first Point/Combo-Guard that in many ways resembles Russ Westbrook

He wasn't even on my radar because all signs pointed to staying one more year. Jarrett Allen is now #1 on my wish list. Kinda shocking that he declared - apparently he wanted to stay for two years. Wonder what changed his mind?

    Elite length for a PF/C: 7'6" wingspan | 9'3" reach

Interesting NBA.com interview with Jerry West re: the draft and lottery:

West: "People think being in the lottery is a fantastic thing. How many lottery picks have really not been good? A bunch. Not a little bit. A bunch.
NBA.com: What’s the most common mistake you see teams making in the draft?
West: Drafting athletes because they have superior athletic ability and not seeing the skill level and, maybe, the desire."
