Ferguson won't be better than Harkless his rookie season. Ferguson shot 31% from 3 in Australia while Harkless shot 35% from 3 last year. Jefferson shoots easy shots at a 47% clip. That's not good. His defense is atrocious. Meyers Leonard is a better backup C than Al Jefferson.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
"Entertaining unrealism" isn't a plan, though. Black swan events are, by their nature, unpredictable. We should certainly hope for something like that, but when constructing plans of action, you can't really "build in" unexpected developments.

It's like developing your ten-year career plan and tossing in "I win Powerball" because it's hard to become a billionaire without an unrealistic event like that. That may be true, but it's still not really something that's worth including in your plan.

Good management adapts to the new reality if something like that happens; I don't think any management can engineer it.

#15: Use the pick and take Jarrett Allen, I would love to take Collins or Jackson here but I think they will be gone unfortunately.

#20: Trade along with Meyers Leonard & Miami 2020 2nd round pick to Brooklyn for pick #27.

#26: Trade along with Allen Crabbe, Moe Harkless, and Ed Davis for Carmelo Anthony and Courtney Lee. (My unrealistic trade)

#27: Use the pick and take Jordan Bell.

    FREE AGENCY

Not much we can really do here, would like to pick up a couple cheap vets though. Maybe Marreese Speights and David Lee would be up to join for a season?

    LINEUP

    Lillard / Turner / Napier
    McCollum / Lee / Connaughton
    Anthony / Aminu / Layman
    Vonleh / Lee / Bell
    Nurkic / Speights / Allen

I think he'd be motivated here, no distractions. He's older but he should be able to play at a high level for 4 more years with his style of play. Plus his ability as a small ball 4 is super intriguing.

A well-formulated opinion is one based off the players strengths, weaknesses, personality, etc. Not simply race. That's just laziness.

Weren't you the same guy that was telling me how OG Anunoby would be an immediate upgrade over Aminu as a three point shooter? How'd OG shoot from downtown this year?

    As for Leonard/Jefferson.....LOL.

Also there's more to being a shooter than just knocking down a wide open three (which explains most of Harkless' attempts.)

Also, Jefferson hasn't ever shot 47%, and his shots aren't "easy" in the deandre mold where it's just putbacks and lobs, but easy in that he can always create a look near the basket by himself.

So let me get this straight, you don't like Zach Collins because he's white?

What makes it even funnier is the best center in the league is also white.

Collins is athletic, has an all around game and isn't afraid of anybody. He should go in the top 10 honestly.

At the time Aminu was shooting 28% of so, and Anunoby will shoot better than that.

FWIW, Anunobys career 3pt% in college is better than Aminu's career high in the NBA.

Okay, 48 and 49%. Still not getting you an ORTG of 100 on possessions he shoots the ball, and it's not like he makes up for it by getting to the line much more than once a game, where he's been a mediocre FT shooter. His OBPM last year was a -1.5. His DBPM was a -1.5 as well.

The looks he creates for himself has a negative affect on a team, unless that team is extremely inefficient from the field.

I don't put too much stock in offensive rating, I view that as a team stat more than anything. Our second unit could use a low post scorer like Jefferson. Whatever though, I don't care enough about him to keep defending him, he was more or less just a toss in to match salaries.

Same with Ferguson. My main point was trying to package Harkless and the pick to move up. Who to move up for can be debated, I just think we'd be better off dealing Harkless if we acquired George. Use the surplus to improve elsewhere.

I used ORTG as a tool to show how Jefferson is inefficient and doesnt help things offensively.

Turner and Harkless would be our only rotation worthy perimeter players off the bench. How is that a surplus?

And Aminu. They're too repetitive, and they all have the same weakness. Our bench would be three non shooters, McCollum, and whoever the backup center is.

The upside of that unit is people would finally appreciate Allen Crabbe.

Or you trade Harkless to IND instead of Crabbe and don't take back Jefferson's bum ass lol.

Here's a question, if George was willing to extend his contract in Portland would you offer Crabbe, Hark, Meyers, 15, 20, 26, and a future 1st for George, Monta, and Al?
