Whoever wins the ship this year, they should have an asterisk due to the Bosnian Beast's injury!

I agree with Pop 100% on this one. When a player is in the air, he is vulnerable. You don't undercut a player who leaves his feet and you don't side your foot into his landing zone. It's a dangerous play that puts a player at risk for injury. I don't give a shit about intent. When you make a play that puts another player at risk, you deserve to be penalized for your actions. No one should have to try to guess you're intent.

Either you did it, or you didn't. Pachulia clearly slid his foot into Leonard's landing area and Leonard did land on his foot, rolling his ankle. It was Pachulia's reckless action that caused the injury. It was a dirty play. You just don't do that shit, whether it's a rec league game of the WCF.

But....but...the Warriors are a super team. Why would they have to play dirty?

Sarcasm aside pachulia is a dirty fucker

I did not hear Pops complain when Bruce Bowen was doing this.

    1) Hahahaha! I remember when Pops said Bruce Bowen wasn't dirty. At the time, youtube was relatively new, and I assume he didn't know about it. So, ever since then my attitude has been "to heck with that guy."

    2) Unsurprisingly, I'm pissed at the league, and at the player's union. Didn't they learn anything from Steve Nash's playoff injury (via a dirty play by Robert Horry). The fans, teams, and scorekeepers should be back at least another 4 feet. This is what exacerbated the injury, stepping on his own teammates foot... who was not even in the game.

Don't blame Pop in the slightest. He had every right to be mad. That close out was absolute B.S. Have to assume Kawhi might be out the whole series. If somebody had tried that with Walton then Lucas would have knocked their teeth out. One reason I kind of miss the old days was because if you had a Mahorn of an Oakley on your team, you didn't have to worry about punk play with no repercussions.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Mahorn is the type of guy who would have done that to Jordan. And then knocked him into the camera crew.

I find it amusing when people, in effect, say, "Wow, I hate that guy, he's such a goon. I miss the old days, when players were goons!" Pachulia putting his foot in a bad place is really insane and beyond the pale, but Dennis Rodman bodyslamming a mid-air Pippen into a basketball stanchion was just playin' ball back when men were men.

Well. It's like the hockey goon era. You had guys like Dave "The Hammer" Schultz who can either go after players who intimidate your stars or "inspire" with their rough play. It's just a different period of time than the rough and tumble 80's. I have to say, if it saves Dame and CJ from getting another rough foul that wouldn't get called back then.... I'll keep the current rules!

Yes, both Pop and Shaq describe Zaza's play as "unnatural", which is what I thought also when I saw it. He does that extra hop when the ball is already gone. I would like to see not only a personal foul but also a technical foul for every incidence of undercutting a jump shooter. I think that would end the practice.
