I work tomorrow but I’m free right now
ok, see you in 15 minutes. Which tree will you be hiding behind?
Married but has time to fight some stranger over literally nothing yeah I’m sure you’re satisfied with your life lmaoo!!!!
lol. he's kind of a kick, but a loose cannon. He won't show.
I’m so happy for Kings. They were actually one of the tanking teams who were not blatant about this and gave their all throughout the season, did not need to keep all their good players on the bench like Memphis and Dallas did. Now they are about to get Luka Doncic.
But that would require trading for disgruntled stars and that's something the Blazers don't do.
The Pels had Holiday and AD trapping though. They had the personal to execute that gameplan. Most teams don't.
Whos a disgruntled star on that team?
No way we can get to #2.
Every prospect has things in their favor. After a star blows up, people act like you could see it coming before, and somehow the positives were telling. It's hindsight bias.
I'm targeting that #8 pick!
So Memphis could get a future all-star and possible franchise player and they're gonna trade him for a borderline (If that) all-star in their prime making 6 times as much money?
Not gonna happen.
Jimmy Butler having a more impressive statistical profile has nothing to do with hindsight, it's just a fact. The positives I noted all have real correlation with success as well.
I know he’s sort of the flavor of the month, and l will probably talk my self into thinking he’s not that good, but Chandler Hutchinson just seems so fluid with the ball. His shot seems repeatable and would only get better in the league and his athleticism and ball handling seems league ready for a forward on our roster.
I just think his role here would let him focus on his qualities without having to try and do to much while giving him time to develop. I just hope he doesn’t move up in the draft because the league is so forward dry.
But he had his negatives too, that don't get brought up. Coming into the draft he was a poor 3pt shooter, not quick enough to get to the rim, and just overall looked like a defense-mostly type of player. Ever player had his negatives. You focus more-so on negatives before the draft, and then after a player blows up into something, then its all about the tiny little positives they had as a prospect.
His ability to finish is what really impresses me. Has many different lammfinishing types and can finish well from odd angles and through contact even though he's skinny. That translates really well to the league. Most good starting SFs in the NBA usually don't score off Iso-ball, and he seems like the type of guy that could catch and shoot at an efficient enough clip to get defenders closing out hard, then he has the quick first step and handle to attack closeouts well and then has the ability to finish at the rim while also having the potential to be a good kick out passer. Plus, he's an extremely, extremely hard worker so the worries about him not improving much because he's 22 are silly. They had the same worries with Malcolm Brogdon. Plus, hes a good defender with the potential to be great.
He's a lottery talent hiding in the late 1st.
What about this trade?
WAS Gets: Al-Farouq Aminu, Jake Layman, Future POR 2nds
ATL Gets: Meyers Leonard, Caleb Swanigan
POR Gets: Ian Mahinmi, Markeiff Morris, Jodie Meeks (TPE), Miles Plumlee (TPE), 15th Pick
Wizards save apx. $16M to avoid tax by shedding two-non rotation players, while swapping Morris for Aminu.
Atlanta saves money and gets a better player than Plumlee in Leonard, as well as a prospect.
Draft Khyri Thomas at 15. I really like this kid. Doesn't have Donovan Mitchell's athleticism but reminds me a lot of him as a prospect. Multi-year player, bullish combo-guard with long arms and a budding offensive skillset.. known more as a defense-first prospect. Solid first step and a decent shooter.
Draft Chandler Hutchison at 24.
Lillard (36) / Thomas (12) / Baldwin
McCollum (35) / Thomas (13) / Turner
Harkless (30) / Hutchison (18) / ?
Morris (24) / Collins (24) / ?
Nurkic (30) / Davis (18) / Plumlee / Mahinmi
What do you do at 24 if Khyri and Hutch are still on the board if there aren't other trades? I've seen some mocks with both of them still there. ESPN's latest mock from a few hours ago has Khyri going 23 and Hutch 24. We may not even need to get as high as 15 to get both of them.
Assuming all attempts to move up for Mikal Bridges fail, I kind of like the idea of just LOADING up on wings by trying to acquire two extra picks in the 18-26 range. Get Khyri and Hutch and then take a flyer on Musa. That would be an immense upgrade to our wings with a ton of potential. We wouldn't even need Musa to come over right away either if we had the other two.
Now to try and figure out how that would be possible.
