Phila cannot use this cap space after this year. When Embiid’s new deal kicks in and Saric gets extension (which won’t be lower than $10M per season) it’s gone. If they don’t think they are getting George or LeBron this year they may as well use it to acquire an additional asset or, as per proposed scenario, move up.

Essentially what I mean to say is that Philadelphia wants to use their cap space in July, so they're unlikely to commit to a pre-draft deal that would require use of said space. By the time they actually have the cap space necessary to absorb Parsons, the draft will be two weeks past.

I don't see anyone actually having the space to take Parsons this week--some salary will have to go back to Memphis. Such as in the deal I was suggesting.

My interpretation of high lottery pick was larger number, aka the 12th or 13 picks.

Clips can make an unbalanced trade if they hold off til July 1.

    Something like Parsons + 4 for Harris + 12 or 13

Thinking way outside the box... From Memphis' perspective, CJ and Meyers are both superstars. Can salary cap / trade machine gurus make any way for CJ + Meyers for Gasol + #4 pick work, along with needed filler on either side? It would create one hell of a front court logjam for us, put (but) Gasol plays so much on the perimeter nowadays, he and Nurk could make an interesting (and lethal) combo.

If the Grizz would go for that, you definitely do it.

Can’t see Grizzlies being happy saving just $7M a year for moving 4 spots down.

Harris would be a good fit for Portland. I wanted him when he was on his two previous teams. CJ is too much to give up for him and not sure anyone else is good enough to give up for him. Tough call on the one.

Not just saving $7M/year, but also getting a player with 2 functional knees.

I don't have time to follow the draft as much as many of you. But I did see this article and found it interesting. I'd be curious to hear some of all y'all's reaction to some of this. Doncic going No. 1 to the Suns for example.

As for the Blazers 'perfect pick' in this article, I don't see how this would be it unless we moved a couple of our big guys. Which we certainly might do. And I don't doubt this guy is better for us than Swanigan. And he did work out for the Blazers already. ESPN has him going No. 22 to Chicago.

    Thoughts?

    24. Portland Trail Blazers - Keita Bates-Diop, F, Ohio State
Bates-Diop is a huge senior forward from Ohio State, measuring at 6’8, 225 pounds with a 7’3 wingspan. He turned into a dependable (36 percent) outside shooter during his fourth year at Ohio State. He’s such a good rebounder that he’s an ideal candidate to play stretch four and even some minutes as a small ball five.

Something funny happened. I was in ESPN draft area and trying to look at their 2018 mock draft. They had all the names out there, but looks like it was insider to see the rest; so i just highlighted all the names and then pasted them in a Word document. Except when I pasted a lot of other stuff spilled out like a little blurb on each guy and comps and also ratings in different categories (although difficult to read). I was gonna post a link to my word document but I don't know how to do that? You guys can try repeating what I did if you are interested.

Not sure if this has been posted anywhere yet. There are some good names on this list, but I'm gonna go with Sabonis for sure.

You could probably accomplish the same thing by viewing the page's source code. I imagine they're using CSS to hide blocks of text for non-subscribers, which is a surprisingly sloppy way of going about it.
