Best player against best team. Storyline would be great.. if we were in 2015.

Oh and I want to add that Is there a correlation with how Portland left the playoffs and the fact that this series hasn't started yet and we already locked it up once? first game isn't until Thursday right?

So.. Takes on how many times this gets rebooted? ;)

Edit: Wait. Scratch that. No pool. People would do it purposefully.

As soon as Cleveland loses the first two, the narrative will switch to The Decision 2.0

    Hypothesis:

Houston just lost. Do they go into the summer saying man we are close, but if we want it next year, even with a Healthy CP3(is that possible) in the playoffs, we need one more piece. LBJ loses to GSW. He then signs with Houston for cheap to take out GSW and make the finals easy for a couple years?

I believe in order for him to succeed moving forward, he will need to rely on others and play off the ball more. A team like Houston could just be the ticket.

I shortened HCP's title, my finger was getting tired. Feel free to add to his title until you are no longer confused.

J F'n C. If that were to happen, NBA fans should just boycott every game involving one of those two teams. I would. But they wouldn't :(

Oh dude, I would. Absolutely. It would piss me off so bad, mostly because it would just be the cap on Dames prime coming up. And there would be nothing Portland could do about it. Period.

It might actually drive Allen to sell and or move the damned team to Portland Maine. Sell being a somewhat legit concern. He isn't getting any younger.

Oh, I mean: What proof do you have that LBJ is going to sign with Houston if he loses the series? Where did you hear that? I mean, you can't just make shit up!!!

    FAMS!!!!

But. I thought... If I build it they will come?

I have this rusty faucet of a mind leak I just cannot turn off for the life of me! And I fully expect everyone to take it as gospel and read it as the headline on every major sports page out there.

It seems like things are going this direction. Before we know it all the best players will take small contracts and sign on 2 or 3 teams

The last two Sonics players in the NBA will meet in the Finals

The Seattle SuperSonics are headed to the NBA Finals — what’s left of them at least.

With the retirement of Oklahoma City Thunder Center Nick Collison announced earlier this month, only two active players who played for the Sonics organization remain in the NBA: Kevin Durant of the Golden State Warriors and Jeff Green of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The two are now set to face each other in the historic fourth-consecutive NBA Finals matchup between their teams, although neither has been involved in the rivalry long.

Durant came to the Warriors last year from the Thunder, for which he had played since the franchise moved to Oklahoma City from Seattle in 2008. He led Golden State to the 2017 NBA Championship over a Cavaliers squad helmed by LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. This year will mark Durant’s second trip to the Finals with the Warriors.

Green, meanwhile, joined the Cavaliers in the fall and will make the first NBA Finals appearance of his 10-year career. After missing the entire 2011-12 season due to heart surgery, Green was visibly emotional after his 19-point effort against the Boston Celtics in Game 7 helped propel his team to the Finals.

NBA announces officials for The 2018 NBA Finals

NEW YORK – The NBA today announced the list of 12 referees who will officiate the The Finals 2018 presented by YouTube TV. The championship series between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors tips off on Thursday, May 31 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.

“The 12 referees chosen to work The Finals have had outstanding years, earning the right to contribute their expertise to this year’s series,” said Monty McCutchen, NBA Vice President and Head of Referee Development and Training. “On a personal note, I know how much pride accompanies this honor and I congratulate these fine referees for reaching the pinnacle of their craft.”

Finals officials were selected by the NBA Referee Operations management team based on their performance throughout the first three rounds of the 2018 playoffs. Officials were evaluated after each round to determine advancement in this year’s postseason.

The 12 referees assigned to The Finals are below:

Four of the 12 have officiated at least 12 Finals games, highlighted by Callahan with 19 and Mauer with 18. The officiating roster also includes one first-time Finals referee, David Guthrie.

NBA officials Eric Lewis and Tom Washington have been assigned as alternates for The Finals 2018.

Individual game assignments for referees are posted at NBA.com/official at approximately 9 a.m. ET each game day.
