One thing about Collins that may get overlooked is that he went up against Karnowski in practice every day for a year. Say whatever you want about Karnowskis athleticism but that guy definitely would be in the top half of the league when it comes to power. Collins' athleticism and length can negate a lack of pure strength. I do agree that he needs to get stronger though, but I'm also of the opinion that his future is at the four, something I believe he could contribute at relatively early.

His utter lack of experience playing basketball against legit players? For one.

You don't consider the best in the NCAA tourney "legit"? Who else is he supposed to go up against?

Ok maybe I was exaggerating but he's certainly deficient on the experience front.

I guess if Brandon Wright can be effective off the bench at 210 lbs then Collins can get some minutes at 230. He just looks so thin and weak right now. I do think he has the skills to warrant some limited minutes this year. But no doubt we need to be patient with him.

I'm sure it's been discussed, but why isn't Karnowski in the league? His size and style?

Sounds about right. Personally I think he can play in the league as a backup but I guess it's hard to look past his weaknesses.

Interesting to me that ET, Harkless, and Aminu are all listed at the exact same weight. .....220lbs.

Collins has almost the exact same height and weight as Lamarcus when he entered the league. He'll be fine.

Yeah he has lamarcus' rookie build. As far as game I see him developing into a Myles Turner type.

Those guys been lifting weights for a while and than been in league for awhile plus Collins never been put on weight and strength program. Most rookies that come out there freshman year are all weak. That why you properly won't see much this year from Collins.

Way premature. Turner is 21. I'd rather have Turner today than LA is his prime. Turner could be a top-tier center if he keeps on his pace.

Not trying to knock Collins, as I'm a huge fan, but that's a pretty big leap. If that's where Collins ends up, we're golden.

What's funny about Turner is no one expected him to have the immediate impact he had because of some of the same concerns Zach is getting now regarding his play strength. Turner was considered a project.

Totes. Shocking. He has a shit-ton of potential. And like I said, I'd take him now, over any time we had LA. MT could end up being a once-in-a-generation center. He's super-inconsistent at the moment, but he's shown brilliant flashes of everything.

If anyone thought he'd be this good already, he'd have been a top-3 pick in his draft class based on his potential.

^That's why I think it's premature. I'm a HUGE Collins fan. But I love me some Turner. As much as I love Collins, I can't see him being on Turner's level this quickly.

Collins is still young and still more of a project. His greatest strength is his defensive IQ and on other areas he still needs to grow, also maybe physically or in being more physical
