Just one reason I will always side with a player during contract negotiations. Combined the Yankees paid out 4 million to 2 of their biggest stars in a decade. I bet the team has made that much in Judge robes and wigs that they sell, never mind tshirts.
The Yanx need to go ahead and do like other teams have done and lock up their best young player/s with long term contracts well before they reach free agency...yeah, they'd be giving them a lot of money earlier instead of waiting but they'd also save a ton of money in the long run. Both Judge and Torrez should be extended now...Sanchez?, no way...not yet anyway.
Speaking of Sanchez, the Yankees let let a proven product like Romine get away and make Higgy back up. Now they have signed Ianetta to a minor league deal. Bit of a head scratcher this one.
I heard the Yankees wanted to deal for Realmuto but allegedly Miami wanted Sanchez and Andujar in return. Cashman wrote the big check for the pitcher but can he be a GM and trade off some of the high priced duds and improve his team. heard Smoltz praising Sanchez to the skiesI must not be watching the same games.
JT will be a free agent after this season. Would prefer we give him a big contract as opposed to Sanchez.
