Yeah, he was certainly a factor in their success but the bigger factor was that the Nats had Scherzer and Strasberg and Corbin and Sanchez...The Angels had nothing even remotely resembling that kind of pitching and after missing on Strasberg when he resigned with the Nats they desperately needed to sign to sign Gerritt Cole, and when they whiffed on him too, they over reacted by signing Rendon.

I think it's been proven over and over that you cannot simply slug your way to a WS title...the Angels still have no pitching to speak of...hell, I can't even name ONE of their pitchers.

Gardner back for one year with an option for a second year.

I like Gardner, the man shows up on game day, puts is productive efforts to help his team. Looks like he got a raise as well for his "career year" in '19. The rest of the Yankees "Superstar" Outfielders need to follows Gardners example and make them self useful as well as ornamental.

Plus, with Hicks out they need him. Still a solid defender and can hit. Poor postseason numbers but you cross that bridge in October.

I'd be pretty sure Gardner knows his intended role is as a part timer. That being said if the other guys show up and start contributing to get the team there then Gardners role in the post season can be reduced.

Just saw that Austin Romine signed a one year deal with Detroit for 4 million. Damn good back up catcher gets away. So what happens now is Higgy the Backup or is there a trade of Sanchez we don't know about!!!!

Perhaps I should of said: Imagine (as I did on my rough draft). (I had a feeling that one word would be necessary for some).

This was totally hypothetical. I'm sure you've imagined a Team with an unbelievable lineup, or staff of aces! Can you not imagine that which is highly unlikely?
Imagine Willie Mays and Mickey Mantle on the same team.

Is that man-crush on Arolaids keeping you from imagining? Doesn't matter imo if Mo' and Gordon didn't win a World Series, hell most of this Team hasn't either~!!
Imo- German reminds me of Gordon quit a bit, and Severino tho' not anything near Mo', can throw 99 mph as Mo' did. But there will never be another Mo' imo, never. But, such will never stop me from imagining.

It's through imagination one begins to comprehend what a paradigm shift is, and most great things come from thinking outside the box...

Matts, I think that if German can get his shit together and stay out of trouble, he can be very valuable coming out of the pen.

Looks like after signing Cole, that Cashman/Hal have gone into the penny pinching mode....letting DiDi go is somewhat understandable but letting Romine go for peanuts may come back to haunt them. "Higgy" is nowhere as good as Romine behind the plate or at bat.

    Don't think this has been discussed but I think this guy would be the perfect fit at SS...switch hitter, great defense, great character;

The Yanx certainly have the trade chips to make it happen and I see no downside to acquiring him.

Lindor, great player the Indians had made him some nice offers but he's turned them down. I understand that the Dodgers are interested in Lindor as well.

holy fkng cow; letting Romine go was fkng ignorant. God forbid if a backup makes more than the shit-for-defense and shit-for-a-bat Starter, damn it!! That was a big mistake. I don't foresee Sanchez ever coming around with his glove or bat, never...

Not surprised by Romine’s leaving. BaBoone & Trashman gave this guy the Royal finger come playoff
time......a total mistreatment of a legit team player. I wish him well. This is a move that will come back
and bite these two jackasses......major mistake.

Adam Warren returns to the Bronx

    https://nypost.com/2019/12/16/yankees-bring-back-adam-warren-for-third-stint-in-bronx/

The Yankees signed Warren to a two-year, minor-league deal which will pay him $800,000 if he’s in the majors.

Warren, 32, had Tommy John surgery in September and likely will miss the entire 2020 season.

Honestly, I don't get this one??? :dunno: :nerd::nerd:

they must think he'll have the arm of a 24 yr old in 2021 when he's 34 yrs old/young...

The Kluber Trade was not much of a surprise, in the case of Bumgarner I'm a bit in shock with the Giants not re-signing him and letting him go to a division rival. Warren, what a dumb move!!!!!!!!!!!!
