Jarrett Culver, DeAndre Hunter and Ignas Brazdeikis are the guys I'm looking at pretty closely right now. And while I'm here, Michigan looks like the best team in college basketball.
Ja Morant's frame and jumper reminds me of Dennis Schroeder. Don't think he's quite as quick or long, but better vertical athlete off two and a little taller. Really like his handle, aggressiveness and confidence on the floor. Def worth a top 10 look in this draft.
I haven't seen Culver yet I seen the other 2 play. Out of the 3 I probably give Hunter the edge. The guy really want is the kid from Gonzaga Hauiagwa. I know I just brutality misspelled his name. I know he game winner the other night.
Rui is a tough one for me. Not in love with his IQ or feel on either end and he doesn't look very versatile on D. Kinda heavy footed. Add in the shooting questions and you're looking at a kid that could have a hard time bringing much value on either end if his mid and low post game don't translate at a high enough level. And yeah DeAndre is my favorite. Posted about him few times last year. Not flashy but should bring excellent defensive versatility and probable shooting. He could be out of our range though.
You guys gotta quit watching these highlight videos. Using them to judge a players game just doesn’t work. I used to make Luke Babbitt look like Larry Bird. Might give you an idea about their style, but that’s it.
For the most part, they're not watching highlight videos (despite Bones' Ja morant post). Most of the dudes in this thread are college hoops junkies who actually watch games.
Good. You really have to watch them in game action to get a real feel. Thats why when it comes to the draft, anything after the top 5 guys, I get lost. Being a college scout for teams has to be the toughest job there is. In my opinion the draft is a crap shoot anyway.
What do you guys think of Nassir Little? From what I've read about him, he could be exactly the type of player the Blazers need at the 3, if he develops a reliable outside shot.
I feel like he's a little overrated. Longer Wilson Chandler with some upside are the vibes I'm getting early on.
I'm doing something a little different this year: instead of stating a direct comparison, it's going to be a little more abstract. For example: DeAndre Hunter: Shades of Kawhi Leonard
I’m digging on Hachimura and Porter, yes I know they are middle lottery guys but maybe if we land in the early teens we can package something to move up for one of them. All of japan covered in Blazers jerseys would be cool.
The guy that's the fastest riser on my board: Brandon Clarke (1A/1B with Hunter) I highly suggest that the S2 scouts start to focus their attention here.
As of today, Portland is picking 14th. If we suck just a little harder we could be in position to be talking about players I only dreamed about aka Doumbouyaaaaaaaa.
NBAdraft.net updated their mock yesterday and his him going to us at 14. I know that site isn't the greatest or anything but why is he slipping?
