Damn...that probably means Saric isn't available.

I don't understand why some people are acting like it has to be a blockbuster trade in order for people to be happy.

Guys like Saric and Prince are possibly available and would at the very least give us a cheap rotation player next year that could still break out too. Bobby Portis got moved yesterday, he would be an upgrade to our PF spot and could probably still be had from Washington. All 3 of those guys fit in our TPE and are likely available for picks.

So that mean Saric is staying. Gibson just might be the ending contract that Neil is looking for

Z-Bo set free, Portland shopping a pick for an expiring, and the Hornets and Grizzlies eyeing each other across an increasingly empty room? Quick thoughts on all of those while we wait. Five hours til deadline - dailymemphian.com/article/2861/G…

Even Toronto traded their best Player/fan fav for a shot at Leonard. Would you have done the same with our fav Dame for a spin the wheel move for Leonard or even Davis now?

So what are you saying? Should we pass on every deal unless it takes us from here to a title in one jump? What advantage is there to losing in the first round as opposed to making it to the second round, or even the WCF? Improvement by steps is still improvement.

He hasn't been doing nothing, he's been doing incremental advantage, which can be frustrating.

Fundamentally, I think our differences come down to this: You say Neil screwed up royally, and I say that he had bad luck combined with some minor screw ups... and we're still paying for it, and will pay for it for a while longer. Of course, I am talking about how he set up the franchise to have everyone be free agent at the same time (good), but it was the worst possible year for that to happen. Then he doubled down on Crabbe and ET. Everyone who signed FAs that year was screwed, but us more so because we had so many FAs.

Not denying, per se, but they a) have to spend 90% of the cap anyway and b) if he gets them from 30 to 35, they're a playoff contender. And the Jerrys (I know they're not "the Jerrys" anymore, but I like saying it) aren't gonna laugh at that playoff revenue. And I'd personally rather have OPJ going forward than Jabari and an about-to-be-expensive Portis.

"We’ve seen 12 major deals in the past eight days in the NBA, involving more than 40 players and a dozen draft picks, but what we have yet to see is the deal we’ve all been waiting for: Something involving Davis."

Decent point, and "no". Obviously I'd do it for CJ, but I have Demar a tier below Dame, and Lowry et al. a bit above our not-Dames.

How about Harkless (or Leonard if they prefer), Aminu, and a 1st for Gibson and Saric?

Hold it, what means that? I really like Saric. I want to hold onto my unreasonable Saric delusion a little while longer...

As much as i would like to see something it's possible NeO thinks he could sneak in a have a chance to get AD during the summer so why make a trade for trade sake and lose a piece that could have been used to get AD. Also the rumor the Blazer were after Marc Gasol could have been another one of NeO's great low ball offers just to see like he is notorious for doing.

I am just playing devil's advocate but we all know NeO does not think that much ahead so prolly not the case if nothing else happens.

I say it’s time to push the chips all in.

CJ + Simons + Nurk + ET + Collins + Picks for eternity.

    Too good of an opportunity.

Although, Stotts needs to get fired still.

But there are moves to be made that can help the incremental approach. I'm fine if that is the plan but you can't just trade for Hood (an unrestricted free agent with no bird rights) and then claim you're still taking the incremental approach. That's a move that only slightly helps this season and most likely not future growth. At least if you traded for picks or a player with time left on his contract we could justify it with the incremental excuse.
