"look, we tried to move our expiring contracts but it takes two to trade and teams just weren't giving enough back to make a trade fungible. Or something. But we'll have a chance to reset our roster this summer; we'll have substantial cap-space and Chandler Parsons will be a free agent"

No, YOU didn't say that. But that's what my post was in response to. AD is a very talented player, but he's no Top 5 player. Again - you didn't say that, but that's what I was responding to.

And IS Denver a much better team than NOP? I mean, they are - it's right there in the standings. But is it because of the players surrounding Jokic vs those surrounding Davis? Hard to say. DEN's roster looks incredibly mediocre to me.

Murray or Jrue? Jrue all day.
Ghost of Millsap or Randle/Mirotic? I take Randle/Mirotic.
Plumlee or the other of Randle/Mirotic? Again, I take Randle/Mirotic.
Harris? Barton? Moore? Payton? Who cares?

DEN might be deeper with average players. But NOP has more talent up top. And yet they're scraping near the bottom of the standings.

Honestly, DEN reminds me of those Blazers teams with Roy and Outlaw. We won a lot of games, but ain't no team with Travis Outlaw in the rotation actually gonna do anything.

I hate PER so I left this for the end. NOP has 6 guys with PER > 17. DEN has 3. We have 2.

I'm not arguing with you, dviss - just typing out my thoughts as to why Davis isn't a Top 5 player.

Nik and WB4 traded three times in one week. Is that a record?

No idea. I guess we'll find out 12 months from now?

    Fair enough.

I'd still take AD over him 10/10.

I think Anthony Davis is a top 5 player, no doubt.

    I would go

    Lebron
    Curry
    Durant
    Davis/Giannis
    Kawhi

2-6 are truly a toss up.

WOW Lebron drafted all the players he wanted to bring to LA. We all know he likes Dame.

Lots of big moves today. The east was busy getting better. And guess what none of it matters cuz nobody beating Golden State in June. So congrats all. Teams should be unloading right now and gearing up for 2022 and beyond. Dallas is the team doing things right. Everyone else is chasing something they aren’t gonna get. Sorry Philly and Toronto. But Luka and a healthy Porzingis And cap room? Yes please.

That Mirotic trade still pisses me off, just because i'm sure Neil didn't want to put the 1st on the line.

Well to be fair we only have...

    Skal
    Zach
    Layman
    Trent
    Simons

still in project mode, we really need another mid 20s guy from the draft.

All kidding aside I bet Neil flips that 1 next year for a couple 2s

Our maybe they preferred four 2nds, two of which should be pretty valuable over one late 1st in a down draft?

At least we get to start delusional AD to Port threads all summer.

I'd rather give jake and Collins more time at the four than use Mirotic for 30 games.

So you are saying we are getting Melo off the waivers wire and do not have to do the "Melo to Portland" thread this summer?

I do like that we got two guys that we could use to replace pieces in the rotation going forward. Two very good trades IMO, just more disappointed that we couldnt do more.
