We'd have to send back a pick somehow to make it happen.

I'm guessing they can do better than that elsewhere though.

Just saw a report that the Blazers might be after Tristan Thompson? Not sure how he would fit in Portland.

Their players don't like each other, they could really use some good locker room guys, which CJ and our guys are.

I think he work fine if this happens Leonard days in Portland probably is gone due to he probably in the trade. It makes us tougher on the 2nd unit especially on the boards.

Never happening. They got rid of Davis for a reason.

Yeah, Thompson is at 17 million this year,18 next. Not a lot there that really makes sense. Leonard and harkless for Thompson and hood saves us ~4 million dollars next season. I'm not super excited about splitting 2 expiring salaries into 1 much larger(individually) one, however.

Also, the Thompson "rumor" is from amico last week, where it was just him speculating on suitors after hearing other teams were calling. He mentions us and okc. They have Adam's and noel. Neither of us would likely be interested. Seems like awful speculation

    Trade #3

    Portland Receives
    Kent Bazemore + Tyler Dorsey

    Hate to derail this thread.

This is the natural order of things. People want their info FAST.

It's why Trump calls them "The Failing NY Times" .

Readership is going down across the board for all newspapers.

    MFs have Twitter.

God Covington would be so perfect for the way the Blazers currently play.

This isn't a bad effort at all although giving up both our rookies and 2 future 1sts is tough.

Side note: I was reading a Sacramento forum the other day and any trade that involved Bjelica several people would mention some sort of handshake agreement between Divac and Bjelica that he wouldn't be traded. It's the reason he backed out of his deal with Philly and signed with the Kings instead. I don't know if it's true or if it really matters even if they did have a deal since it's not binding but it wouldn't surprise me if Divac did honor some sort of agreement.

Kings won’t be trading Bjelica, he is very important for how they play and they do not have a replacement (Bagley will be center).

Covington would be an amazing catch for us but Wolves won’t be looking to trade him either. Simons is still 2-3 years away and our pick won’t be that great this year. Covington is on a very good contract and you can plug him into any team now and he will perform.

The good: he would bring many of the same things that Ed Davis did.
The bad: he gives us Ed Davis production at a *much* higher salary.
The ugly: isn't he hooking up with a Kardasian? How much would it cost to fumigate the Moda after every game? :devilwink:

Trade 1 is a huge overpay imo. Essentially cap savings and two 1st round picks for Convington. Perfect player for us, sure, but not for that.

Bleacher Report's Zach Buckley had an article about "Blockbuster Deals that Would Blow Up the NBA Trade Deadline" and there was a Blazer one:

Cavs get Turner, Simons, and Swanigan

    Blazers get Love and Nwaba

Not sure why that's specific to Portland?
