Tom Styer https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Steyer He hasn’t declared yet but he keeps traveling to Iowa and spending millions on adds. He’s a giant boogie man to the right. I don’t know that much about him aside from he’s a billionaire and was a hedge fund manager for decades. His primary point as far as I can tell is a push to impeach Trump.
Yep. How do you have that much money and not fix this? Hopefully they're all healthy and he isn't worried about how they look.
He's the former coal mine owner who bought Kitzhaber by bribing him through his wife's company. His "war on the poor" policy of taxing people for every mile they drive was pushed hard by Kitzy, who seems to be thinking he could get elected again.
I don't follow any of the candidates much but the only one I can say I've seen say anything memorable that I like is Tulsi Gabbard.
i don't think i have read anywhere that position stated by her. she is without a doubt against intervention in the middle east at this time though. Gabbard also stands by her meeting with Assad, her spokeswoman said: “She has stated time and again that peace can never be achieved if we only meet and speak with our friends. If we really want peace, we need to be fearless enough to sit down and speak directly with our adversaries.” ---------from guardian article. she also won't pass a purity litmus test concerning some of the progressive agenda, but IMHO makes her a candidate for reaching across party lines into the independent pool of voters, to increase elect-ability. i am a pro life independent with a definite left tilt but not a one issue one, and am willing to overlook the choice position in other liberal candidates.
Talking to the enemy is a good thing. Calling our allies fighting the against the enemy 'terrorists' is a different, not-so-good thing. I don't think it disqualifies her or anything - but it wasn't a great first step in the spotlight. I'd still vote for her over Trump. barfo
are you referring to her sponsorship of"the stop arming terrorists act"? The measure stems from Rep. Tulsi Gabbard’s “Stop Arming Terrorists Act,” which the Hawaii Democrat introduced last year with bipartisan support. Gabbard, a skeptic of previous efforts by the U.S. government to train and equip so-called moderate rebels in Syria, believes the measure will ensure that American weapons won’t end up in the wrong hands. quote from roll call article about legislation https://www.rollcall.com/news/politics/congress-terror-groups-hands-off-weapons
he has been dead for 6 years now. he and ted stevens were quite the dynamic duo in their day, even though they were from different sides of the aisle.
