I agree with a lot of this. But, while I don't agree with everything AOC and her ilk say, I think it is undeniable that she is less of a piece of shit, morally bankrupt person than Trump is. And yes, I do think anyone who disagrees with that is extremely morally questionable. Of course "not all Republicans, not all Democrats, etc" but if those are the two poles right now, one side is unequivocally better than the other. I have no party loyalty, but the left has the high ground right now.
Hypocritical much?....you don't think Faux News is completely biased and "a total puppet" of Tromp and the GOP?
I’m not saying AOC is a POS. Far from it. I think her intentions are good but very, very unrealistic for a country this big, diverse and divided. And yes, right now it could very easily be argued that the Democrats have the high “moral” ground. The best I can say about AOC is that someone has to start somewhere to try and make things better for all. And she has chosen to be one of those persons. But her approach is such that it will wear thin quickly. And it’s tough to effect change when you have been voted out of office because your aspirations are so lofty that you end up achieving nothing but voter fatigue.....
Are you saying that all the Democrats have labeled Gabbard as a Russian asset? Or, perhaps, you meant one Democrat labeled her as a Russian asset. There's quite a difference.
Wouldn't be a bad thing but I just can't stretch my imagination that far. I'm actually a fan of Amy's. Not as big a fan as I am of Mayor Pete but still a fan. I'd be very happy with her as President.
Do you do have to speak without including nonsense or else others might label you as having nonsense. Now, I only know of one Democrat who has labeled Gabbard as a Russian asset. Not saying other prominent Democrats haven't also said that but I am saying I haven't heard any. Please give some examples.
Well said. We all need to be more interested and respectful of other opinions even if they differ. And rather than teaching our kids and grandkids to take no prisoners and be very aggressive in opposition, we should show them that it's ok to discuss, disagree and still be cordial. If we cannot do this as a people we become like all the factions in the mideast that would rather excommunicate or even kill those that don't bow down to a certain belief. Ive always been critical of religion that shun people now its become those in the demo & repu party.
I've got no problem listening to that. I just thought that UncleCliffy'sDaddy got a little overaggressive in his criticism of me and you appeared to me to support that approach. My prefered method to dealing with conflict is to talk it out. If it can't be talked out then the ignore feature is the fallback alternative. I've interacted with you many times over the years and would prefer the talk it out alternative. Can I accept alternative politics? Sure, look how I admire Mags for all his good qualities regardless of our political differences. The same goes true with ABM. In conclusion, my Christian belief is that the human soul is sacred even if I have conflict with the human. I continually try to improve on my acceptance of that fact. I might add that even the smallest attempt by someone to patch up a relationship with me goes a long way.
Lanny, Ive always appreciated your humbleness and willingness to treat people with respect that may differ from your viewpoints. Youv'e always done so with me when we don't agree and I with you. Im sure if we would have crossed paths in the late 50's - 60's we would have had a blast. Even though I encroached on them Lake O girls and many times transported them to SE Portland for some real American Graffiti. I was a poacher for those high end conservative/republican raised chicks.
Back in those days, I was pretty much a wall flower. I didn't really open up until I was 19 and in the Army and got into a shaving cream fight with a buddy from Chicago who owned a new red corvette. That opened up a transformation.
