They let PhysEd walk for nothing and he didn't get a lot from other teams after ponying up for guys like Meyers, that would be a legit gripe but CJ takes up more than 1/4 of the cap, hell he takes up way more than 1/5 of what's available under the luxury tax. Moving him just makes too much sense for it to be grouped with letting Davis walk for nothing when he was a cheap and integral part of the team's success.

Maybe so, but no doubt Olshey would have run it by Dame a couple years back, now ?

agree with that my point was that situation I believe encouraged Dame to explore more with Paul what is expectations were and he would like to be asked his opinion on any trades.

I'm sure Dame wasn't like, "Yeah man I love CJ and all but I can't win with him." It's Olshey's job to get Dame a team that he can win the most with not tuck him in at night. It's also Olshey's job to get Stotts help on defense and holding guys accountable, get Stotts to do that himself or get Stotts out the door. Olshey doesn't do his fucking job in these capacities. He is great on days like today and the last week though.

    * Another veteran who could be changing teams is Paul Millsap. The Ringer reported Millsap is an expected target of the Portland Trail Blazers. Some NBA talent evaluators believe Millsap could be worth Portland’s mid-level exception this offseason.

Pure guess, but I think this deal may already be agreed to.

I'd put money on that assumption.

Millsap is okay but so old! If that is for more than 1 year....just don't get it.

Good get 5 years ago, but in the now I would rather have Crowder or Gallo. (though it appears the latter may be off the table)

So many people on here saying galo...that guy is getting payed way more than the MLE. He’s not a realistic option unless it’s a sign and trade.
Millsap is perfect for 20-25 minutes a game. So much more toughness and D on this team with him and Covington

Milsap is older sure, but he doesn't get pushed around by anyone in the paint (outside AD maybe). Crafty vet that can hit the 3. Great fit.

I like Millsap. Always have. I’m so old that I advocated us drafting him on this very board.

nonetheless I still think he’d be a quality player and upgrade our depth tremendously.

I wouldn’t wanna be paying any 38 year old nba player big money. If it’s PM it has to be a 2 year deal. That’s what Roco is signed through, maybe the plan is to load up and go for it over the next two seasons, reevaluate the roster(CJ and Dame) after that.

Oh, he very well may be the smartest move with the MLE, unless we make a trade that nets us an equal or better and younger option to play the other forward spot with RoCo. If Ariza is somehow available, I'd rather have him.

Never understood that choice. We wasted a late first on a garbage Brit.

I did like his feistiness though. Love players who don’t take shit

Yeah, too bad injuries derailed his career.

I was actually surprised that he didn't come back to the league. I thought he was good enough but yeah, Milsap would have obviously been way better.
