Grant's not going back to Denver, hence they need to re-sign Millsap - and they can pay him more than we can, as I understand it.
Because they have a huge hole at PF now with Grant gone. So they bring back Millsap instead of letting both go.
This makes sense that he would get more than the MLE. Too bad he's going to a dumpster fire. That being said, if the Rockets can get young pieces and picks for Harden and Russ, then it could be an ideal situation for him down the road.
He's not that bad, on offense at least. He only shot .358 from three last year but the three previous years .375, .393 and .403. Also in those three years average about 11 rebounds per 36.
