Might as well *Hunter Dickinson *Sharife Cooper *Luka Garza *Corey Kispert ^ Are very interesting prospects. Cooper is a p&r nightmare - a true PG. Luka Garza continues to put up monster numbers - also leads the country in numerous advanced categories. His mobility is a big question mark though. Who are you keeping tabs on?
Evan Mobley should not be forgotten. He’s right up there with Cade and Suggs. This guy got a unicorn potential. He does need to add weight but once he does he can be dangerous
Though he's currently sidelined by Covid protocols, Oregon's Chris Duarte is putting together a hell of a season. He's an older prospect at 23, but I'm higher on his NBA potential then any Duck in the last 10 years. For comparison, here's his season stats vs a couple of similar sized shooters from WSU in their final seasons. Klay Thompson-35 MPG, 18 PPG, 44% FG%, 2.9 threes@40%, 4.6 FTs@84%, 5.2 RBs, 3.7 Assts, 1.6 Stls, 0.9 Blks, 2.9 TOs, 26.1 PER CJ Elleby - 33.4 MPG, 18.4 PPG, 40% FG%, 2.3 threes@34%, 3.8 FTs@82%, 7.8 RBs, 1.9 Assts, 1.8 Stls, 0.8 Blks, 2.2 TOs, 22.5 PER Chris Duarte - 34 MPG, 18.4 PPG, 55% FG%, 2.8 threes@46%, 2.5 FTs@87%, 4.6 RBs, 2.2 Assts, 2.5 Stls, 1.0 Blks, 2.1 TOs, 28.2 PER STOMP
He’s seem like a good player to look at. I also like Ethan Thompson a lot. He has the ability to hit deep 3s, good defender, and a good secondary playmaker. Duarte seem like a similar player, maybe without the PG skills that Thompson can bring. But Duarte is a little bit better 3 point shooter. I wouldn’t mind either of them honestly
45% is little bit better then 33%??? For TS% Duarte leads ET 69% to 53%... he's a vastly superior perimeter threat & shooter STOMP
Yes, I am a huge Duck fan, but I rarely push for us to draft any Duck players. However, I love Duarte's game. I don't see a weakness. He is a 2 way player for sure. A 3 and D wing who can handle the ball. But much like Pritchard, who I wanted in the 2nd round, I don't see how we can get him. I don't see him as a lottery pick, nor will he be available in the 2nd round. I bet he goes around 25-30.
Do the Blazers even have a pick in this upcoming draft? Or only if they fall in the bottom 14? They have no second I know.
Trades happen all the time, so hypothetically thats how. However, I was mostly responding to the OP question of who are posters keeping tabs on for the 2021 draft not really targeting a realistic player for the PTB's current draft status. While I'd love to add Chris to the Blazers roster, there are many others in this next draft that I'd love to add as well. I will say though that if he keeps up this torrid shooting pace he'll be going higher then 25 even in this strong draft. Again, look at his #s vs Klay's who was a late lotto selection. STOMP
That's right, no picks in this upcoming draft. We'll see though, maybe Olshey will pull off something big draft day that nets us a draft pick of some kind or more likely something small that gets us someone he's targeting in the second round.
We keep our pick if it’s lotto - my realistic lotto picks in bold. Second Round or Undrafted - Garza/Dickinson. This is a solid draft. Definitely would not have added this year’s pick in that RoCo deal.
Yeah I really didn’t like the RoCo trade for that reason. He’s a streaky shooter with an overrated defense. I would’ve much rather kept Ariza, draft Bey, and keep this year pick in a deep draft
Or considering what happened after the trade. Sign and trade Wood for Ariza and our first. Wood would be huge for us this season and going forward. I get it that Olshey didn't pick him so he'd rather have Zach or some stupid ass shit like that but we were made fools of. They traded RoCo for Wood and our 2021 first.
