Good catch you're right. They might do that for a first or two though considering the position they're in.
Wiggins Simmons Both elite defenders I’d love to get for CJ in some sort of package. Separately, of course Dame Norm Roco Simmons Nurk
Is Brown that much of an upgrade if we could re-sign Powell? I would rather upgrade at a bigger position.
I am this year. He was always thought to be a potential elite defender, and this year he finally lived up to that……or close to it
Yes Stats can certainly be misleading, but he was top 20 in defensive win shares, number 4 wing defender. For perspective our top rated player in that stat was Covington at #40. CJ was #317
Sorry, I'm not keeping track of whos ideas these are, I was responding to someone else. I think I said I would trade CJ for Brown straight up, did I not? Throw DJJ in, great with me! RoCo and a 1st seems like a lot, but maybe CJ, DJJ, and RoCo just aren't as good as we have been saying?
I think Brown can easily cover the SF position since he is 6'6. Powell is small for that it was a bit obvious against Denver where he had 13 rebounds in 6 games.
I dislike CJ and I like Brown, but i think it's a bit too much as well. At least save RoCo from that deal somehow, but then it seems it's not enough. Very difficult to trade with the Celtics.
This is very much my point. This is only a good deal if you think DJJ and RoCo just aren't very important players. I was having a hard time wrapping my head around how someone could point to guys like DJJ and RoCo all season as these amazing talents, and then be fine adding them, along with CJ "all-star" McCullon AND and 1st round pick. Did those guys become way less talented all of a sudden? Were they never that talented in the first place?
https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/05/tra...s-following-playoff-exit-coaching-change.html Some interesting tidbits here: Probably referring to Giannis here. Spurs are an interesting choice, especially if DeRozan doesn't return. Pop is not going to want to field a rebuilding roster. Derrick White is an interesting name. @SlyPokerDog This you?
I don't work for the Blazers and I'm not a team executive, lol. But that does support what I said about McGowan and the Blazers understanding changes must be made. Lillard is good for business.
DJJ was another significant overvaluation by the GM. But, RoCo is the best glue-guy Portland has had since Batum. His value to Portland will almost certainly be greater than what he'd fetch in a trade package. CJ + DJJ + 1st for Brown looks like a somewhat fair trade, at least from Portland's end. I seriously doubt the Celtics would see it that way and there's almost no way the salaries work unless it's a 3 team deal. Adding RoCo is too much as far as the shade you're throwing, sure, it applies. When the agenda was 'the coach sucks' the Blazers had one of the most talented rosters in the league. When the agenda is upgrading the roster, the collection of Blazer talent is much less, or more accurate, the evaluation of existing talent is more realistic
can't trade Collins until he has a new contract, and then he couldn't be traded till December or January, depending on next season's calender
