Looks as if Toronto is blowing it up. Not only trading Lowry, but also 27 year old Powell who is having his best year. It's a big risk going for Siakam, as his production has declined and now seems to be yelling at his coach a couple times. Big gamble trading CJ, but we still have Trent. Seems like it would balance us out and maybe he just needs a new environment. Would need to involve a third team like New Orleans or Minnesota to provide young assets to Toronto. Gonna need a very creative GM; is Olshey up to it?
One way to do it: New Orleans gets CJ, we get Siakam; Toronto gets Ball, Alexander-Walker and a couple first rounders from New Orleans (and Redick for salary purposes). http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yg9vervk
I moved all the posts about Drexler to the Around the NBA thread (seemed like the most neutral, least focused one) so as not to derail this one.
These are smaller trade targets but Memphis has a couple PFs on the bench not really playing big roles in Xavier Tillman and Brandon Clarke. Another target I like is Kenrich Williams. I think everyone who isn’t a foundational piece for OKC can be had for the right price aka picks.
Shams today: Blazers still interested in Simmons. Seems wherever he goes a three team deal is more likely Blazers interested in Jerami Grant and his injury won’t affect his market. Detroit open to a move Atlanta taking calls on Reddish. They want a first. Suns taking calls on Jalen Smith Teams calling NY about Knox
A deadline deal maybe, but not having contributors for 6 weeks if we make a deal now is rough. Need to see how far behind we are in the playoff hunt at that point.
