This is my thought. This "it's for first place" WERE NOT EVEN TO THANKSGIVING. The damn playoffs don't start for two more seasons! Winter, then spring! Like geez.

If this team can get healthy and stay connected they will improve as the season goes on and on any given night can win or at least be a handful.
I still think around 6/5 seed.

Possibly a team that has finally been scouted properly?

Funny thing is, the only guys losing their minds are the ones who thought we’d actually have HCA in the playoffs.

Probably because he has a little bit of commons sense and knew we weren’t the “best team in the west”

Maybe...but I think it has more to do with who is or is not willing to accept that Dame is not immune to age. I would guess these are the same fans who were outraged at any discussion of starting an actual rebuild.

    Saying this for years
Eh. I don't know. I mean, doesn't that kind of go without saying, to a degree? Every year, even teams filled with vets and a largely returning roster is going to be a little different from the year before and you are going to make some adjustments in how you play them.

I think, if you look at the way the team was performing, there were aspects that were much better than we had any right to anticipate. Now, could just that mix of players and coaches have accounted for that? Sure. One can certainly even realistically hope that the mix has most if not all of the players putting up better performances individually than they have before. Still, having watched the turnover issues and some of the other inconsistencies of early this season, our record probably was a couple of games better than it should have been, and the odds just say that if you win some games you shouldn't win you're probably going to lose some at some point that you should win.

During an 82-game season, the thing with basketball is no matter how on the dot your scouting report might be, a lot of times it comes down to guys just making plays, and sometimes players don't shoot well. The good players and teams find ways to win on those nights by manufacturing points in other ways ... but, yeah, sometimes teams just don't shoot well.

To be fair I think we get HCA (said it before seasons start) but the overreactions crack me up lol.

Lets see where they are Dec 4th. 8 games over 12 days with 2 B2B's.

This next part of the schedule should tell a bunch about the team. I wonder how much time Dame will actually miss?

sure does seem there are several posters really really happy that Portland lost the last two games and that dame is injured. Gives them lots of "I told you so" opportunities and that's worth more than Blazer wins
