Chauncey’s substitutions were terrible tonight. When you have Ant, Grant and Nurk as your main offensive weapons YOU CAN’T SIT THEM ALL AT THE SAME TIME! You have to stagger those guys so at least 1 of them is on the court. A lineup of Winslow, Watford, Eubanks, Little and Sharpe is going to get destroyed.

Sharpe is STRUGGLING on defense and Chauncey left him out there too long. Curry absolutely cooked him. That’s how Brooklyn pulled away in the game.

    Totally agree.
More so this is more than just rookie wall. This kid didn’t even play a college season. Can you imagine what he is feeling right now? Absolutely every minute of every day is scheduled. Even his sleep and rest time.

I think people got a little too high on the team after winning so many close games to start the season. Now it seems like we got people are going extreme in the other direction given that Dame is out.

    This is a long season.

I don’t think he’s not as good. I think it’s a mental issue. My fear is it’s his motor and competitive mindset. He’s SUPER young so it is very likely correctable. He’s missing shots and he’s hesitating on offense rather than doing it in the flow. I think the game will slow down for him, he will learn sets and rotations. Finally he will relax and then he will be a key piece again. I just hate seeing this stage of growth but its true of almost all rookies and even superstar rookies.

He's also been playing heavy minutes.

He also outscored Josh Hart by 20. And the bench *himself* by 16.

For the record I don’t believe it but I wanted to see what people were talking about. Sharpe needs to develop. Maybe he needs a stint in the G league because he needs touches and minutes. If GPII will indeed take his minute send him to the Gleague and hope he plays 30 minutes a night. Btw, we need to own a Gleague team this is a no-brainer.

Keep wondering why Sharpe gets playing time by default and Walker gets none.

    keep expectations low.

i didn't think he'd impact our winning at all this year. any of that is a bonus. all i wanted were flashes and 10-15 mpg perhaps even sporadically so he gets a feel for game play.

I meant that he's not as good YET as his early production indicated. I think he's just in a typical rookie funk, and add to that he has an injury, teams have figured him out AND he's basically playing the first ball in a long time that maybe he's hit a wall a bit.

They don't run plays for him much anymore too. And I don't think it's a bad thing that he's this way. I didn't expect him to be much of a consistent threat (8-11 points) until March anyways.

and we apparently lost cuz Curry scored 14 more than him tonight and the loss is entirely on Simons.

a veteran poster actually said this in this thread.

Losing on the road is not bad as losing at home like the Jazz and Nets game. That 2 hurts

Ok, but if he isn’t gonna sniff the court when GPII arrives, send him to Gleague.

I would guess it's because Sharpe is a lot better than Walker, but I only say that because he is.

normally, i'd agree but i don't like the idea of sending a rookie like shaedon down to a team we don't control. think he'd gain way more just sitting 5 feet from dame on the bench than playing 40 mpg and jacking up 30 shots against lesser competition. sharpe needs to be around professionals and see pro actions and learn counters.

That’s fair. I just want to see him develop and hoped he’d be an anomaly and just get going ASAP as a rookie. He really needs development and if he’s going to get benched Id rather he play in the G league. Again we REALLY ought to own one that does all our teams sets on defense and offense. This is such an obvious things its incredible we still don’t have one.

Yeah you might be right since we don’t own a Gleague team. Which again, is an absolute head scratcher. Jody is one of the richest owners in sports. She’s spending on the team which I applaud but buy that Gleague team and have it modeled after our team. We have so many young guys needing development.
