Blazers made a valiant effort to cut a 20 point Sixers lead down to 10 in the previous matchup. If Jerami Grant had hit his patented stat pad 3 pointer in the final few ticks, Portland would have only lost by 7.

I'll be impressed if the Blazers can keep the first-quarter score within 7.

nurk looked lighter on his feet last game (am i only one who noticed that) than he did at any point this season, he made some really good defensive plays

maybe it was fresh legs or adrenalin kicked in, but i hope we see the same tonight, more mobile nurk is better defensive player

Yes, his wrong foot sweeping hook flip thingy somehow rattled home. Nurkic looked amazing in Boston.

I rambled on about how the Blazers might beat Boston. I don't remember what positive factors I tried to spin. Not going to even attempt to perceive quality Blazer action in Philadelphia. The team seems to have embraced losing to stronger opposition.

Positives....Dame can lobby for Embiid to come to Portland and get away from Doc Rivers and James Harden. Hope to see them talking with mouths covered in the meantime.

Didn't you watch Watford's double double? Trendon has so much talent padding stats in garbage time, that he has recently been added to the list of "untouchable" players in future trade scenarios.

Good, because it would be idiotic to get rid of him when he only makes 1.5 million unless some other team demanded that he be included in the trade. Watford forces things at times for sure, but at his size, he has too many skills to dump him just as filler. Maybe he never makes an impact but I want to see another year of him to know for sure.

I had blissfully forgotten about the game tonight until the news of Simons return flashed on my Apple watch - mixed feelings for sure. :-)

I thought he looked really agile the last game before he got injured.

We are going to lose, but hopefully, Ant and Nurk can shake off the rust in preparation for Sunday's game.

I totally understand Watford is an undrafted sophomore on minimum contract. But he hasn't blocked a shot in over a month. Trendon has only 6 blocks all season. The league has generously gifted him a 0.1 bpg average. The Blazers as a team have serious defensive flaws, and squeezing offensive production from a reserve forward has not been a winning strategy.
