It's kind of all or nothing. Either we accept that the whole point of a forum is post a wide range of opinions (including predicting whether a player will suck or not) or.... we don't.

At the end of the day we're all a bunch of nerds who like to talk hoops and think we know more about the game than we probably do. Where's the fun if we can't post something and then go back 10 years later and say, "I was right!" Or.... 10 years from now you can go back and say, "you were wrong!"

Still, by now you would think that fans would be smart enough to know that one year is not long enough to dismiss a player who just turned 20.

I mean, you think we sign Payton II and hard cap ourselves essentially burying Keon if we had any semblance of hope for the kid next year?

Its not his fault he got traded to a team in love with undersized guards.

Some of us just don't see it.

Remember when people thought Luis Montero was gonna be a stud someday?

You vastly overrate the abilities of most fans

Also.... where's the fun if I can't grossly overreact from one game to the next?

I am hopeful that the combination of the defense we are seeing in summer league, the new player additions and the fact that it will be season 2 of this defensive system that we will see a jump in our defense this season to near top 10 ranking. If that does happen it changes the outlook of what the team can accomplish because should be top 10 in offense.

Why not cut Louzada and add Demarcus Cousins?

Now that we've learned a little bit about some of the Blazers' young guns, it's time to distribute minutes. Here's how I see it -

    upload_2022-7-18_11-41-34.png

I think Hart will win the starting SF spot.

I'm making a bold prediction and saying Walker will beat out Winslow for the backup PF & SF minutes.

Tough to tell how Sharpe will fit in. For now, I've slotted him in to grab some garbage minutes at SG & SF.

Let's hope Little stays healthy and competes for some of those SF & SG minutes.

I'm feeling a bit more comfortable with Watford's development. Johnson, not so much. Brown, meh.

I'm excited about this coming year!

I would be shocked if Walker gets more minutes than Winslow.

Or Watford getting more minutes than GP2. Also seriously doubt Nas gets SG minutes. He'll shift up, GP2 will get more minutes, and Walker/Watford will get fewer.

Unless Winslow is injured, which unfortunately, he is often.

    Dame
    Ant

    Hart
    GP2

    Grant
    Nassir
    Winslow
    Walker

    Nurkic

Walker has the edge on Watford and Sharpe for me for 9th man.

He's a beautiful fit if we want roll with no true center bench lineups.

Wow thanks for the graphic, makes it much easier to visualize.

I think 16mpg for Little would be a really tough sell, he’s also going into a prove-it year. I think it’s more likely that Watford and Walker split around 30mpg and Nas gets around 25 all at SF.

With Walker’s emergence, I’m more comfortable with Sharpe sitting the bench this year. It’s almost like what happened with Ant and Gary, but a season earlier. I would hope that considering blowouts, he averages out to north of 10mpg over 40 games.

Interested to see Watford at C. Nothing I ever considered before.

Simons is going to get over 30mpgs.

Your not going to have 13 guys getting minutes every game, it'll be 9 or 10. So total if looking at 13 players would be over 48 mpg at each position. Unfortunately will have games missed or injuries too, that is when depth chart 10-13 players get minutes.

Keon and Sharpe won't both play under 10mpg in the same game.

Little would be more likely to play PF than SG, IMO. I don't see him playing any SG with all our other guards.

Eubanks or Watford gets backup C minutes, not both.

    Here's my rotation:

    PG - Dame (32) Ant (16)
    SG - Ant (18) GP2 (25) Hart (5)
    Hart (25) Little (13) Sharpe (10)
    Grant (32) Little (5) Winslow (11)
    Nurk (28) Watford/Eubanks (20)

    Dame 32 minutes (PG)
    Ant 34 minutes (SG/PG)
    Hart 30 minutes (SF/SG)
    Grant 32 minutes (PF)
    Nurk 28 minutes (C)
    GP2 25 minutes (SG)
    Little 18 minutes (SF/PF)
    Winslow 11 minutes (PF)
    Sharpe 10 minutes (SF)
Watford/Eubanks 20 minutes (C) depending on the team we're facing.

That's a 10-11 man rotation at the start of the season. I feel bad giving Winslow only 11 minutes, but we really need to give Little and Sharpe some minutes, and that's where I would primarily see him competing for time. If Sharpe isn't ready to see the court, or Little is injured, I could see Winslow getting more minutes. I'm also not sure what to do with Walker. I think he's ready to see the floor right away. I actually think he could supplant Winslow.

We have a lot of young guys, and realistically I think we need a consolidation trade at some point.

I believe the #7 pick in the draft will get more than 10 mpg. Chauncey knows the only way to get him going to is give him pt. I see hi getting at least 15 mpg spitting tine at 2/3.

Man, I honestly don't think that kid will even see the court. You really think he'll play 15 a game?

If this team is as bad as you claim it is, there's no reason that he shouldn't.

This is start of the season. I don't think they toss him in for more than maybe 10 minutes a night.

Honestly, I'll be surprised if we don't see a trade before the deadline.

I get the feeling Chauncey will get him as many minutes as possible to bring him along in quick fashion. Just a wild ass guess.
