You don't trade firsts for middling players. Where are the minutes for Gordon with Simons, Dame and Hart? Without expecting much from Shaedon other than 5-10 minutes per game. We also have Keon to get minutes. We have zero need for Gordon.

I don't think they'll get a first in the deal...that's what they WANT...not what we offered...some of the guys you are worried about minutes for in my view aren't worth worrying about minutes for. McLemore didn't keep Ant or Hart off the floor. Neither would Gordon. I'm not that worried about the bottom of the bench tank team we saw at the end of the season...I want vets and to win now..not 3 years from now. Gordon you might say will take minutes from CJ Elleby and hopefully his roster spot altogether...it's the Martin kid I like in the deal most. 6'8 wings are a position of need for us.

McLemore signed for the minimum. Gordon is paid over 10 million.

Will Gordon be a positive presence if he is getting DNP? I very much doubt it. He will want a role.

you can say that about every player in the league though....CJ Elleby wants a role...Ben McLemore wants a role but more than that...they want jobs.

Unless you're trading a guy like Ant who's due to make more than that.

Ant is tiers above Gordon on so many levels and is 10 yrs younger. Why would be trade him to sign an overpaid guard who is well past his prime?

I don't understand the point you're trying to make.

Instead of paying Gordon that much for KMartJr would rather just go after someone like Kyle Anderson

it's a nonsense rumor from a very unreliable source. just noise at the moment. Just because blazersedge has no standards for what goes on their front page doesn't mean we should give it a second thought.

that wouldn't be the Ant trade I'm thinking about ....Ant could be signed and traded in a deal with another team leaving a guard spot open. Ant will definitely be gone if they swing for a KD type trade. Im just speculating but read that today we're on the phone with Houston. I find it interesting...maybe a 3 team deal could be in the works.

It's nearly impossible to get KD in a S&T for Ant without including Bledose in THAT deal. This rumor has no legs.

It might not but feel free to express why it is we're talking with Houston about it today?

we are probably talking to 20 other teams. It's all posturing and hardly newsworthy when you dig a bit deeper.

that's the only scenario where conversations with houston seem plausible. But i'm not sure of Philly's interest in Gordon after landing a reasonable equivalent in Melton on draft day. Talk all over today is that Philly wants PJ Tucker now, so they need to duck the tax a bit to be able to afford him. But there was an article this morning that said they don't just want to dump Thybulle.

Players don't accept a role if theres 15+ teams that would give them a bigger role. CJ and Ben just wanted guaranteed contract. Gordon wants shots to get his next contract. He wouldn't be happy out of the rotation.

That was the rumor back at the draft.

Now that Philly has already traded Danny Green's $10 million contract I think it may have killed any chance of that deal happening.

interesting note about Philly is Sergi Oliva, who is now an assistant GM in Portland, worked there a couple years ago and was part of the front office that drafted Thybulle.

Roster spots are getting harder and harder to come by...if you look at the vets who couldn't land a roster spot last season...it's going to be a bigger list this season. I don't know that what Gordon wants is what he gets in the current climate with all these new young players earning minutes these days. Lamarcus frickin' Aldridge was buried on a bench along with Paul Milsap and Blake Griffin last season...times are changing

Those guys are washed, Gordon is still a good player who averaged 30 minutes a game last season and had his most efficient shooting season of his career.
