Yeah, 30 years of work to finally get the Oscar and he shit it away. No one is talking about his win and he may have to give the Oscar back. He might not ever be allowed back at the Oscars and who knows how it will affect his career.
I find it interesting that they had rehearsals in which Rock must have said the same joke? Why didn't Smith call him out then and tell him it wasn't ok, and that he couldn't say that during the Oscars?
The look his wife had, was what triggered him. Big Mistake. When the look happens, men will react in various way!
Here is a definition of Alopecia Here is a definition of disability The VA actually does qualify Alopecia as a disability. Not all disabilities are the same. Making fun of someone for a chronic illness and/or physical disability is not going to ever be ok.
It's not stopping her from doing anything. She just acted in the new Matrix movie. She has a TV show etc. She isn't really disabled, but yeah she has medical condition and it shouldn't be made fun of. Chris Rock shouldn't have said the joke. Will Smith shouldn't have gotten violent. It is what is now.
How do you know that it isn't stopping her from doing anything? The potential psychological/emotional damage from someone losing their hair to a medical condition might be affecting her greatly. It would make the majority of people self conscious and give someone self esteem issues.
More disheartening to me is that during Will's acceptance speech he claims to be a 'vessel of love' and tried to justify his actions and then went on to apologize to a bunch of people but left out the one he needed to apologize to most, Chris Rock. If I'm WS I'm doing everything in my power to have that man by my side and squash it right then and there. That would have made for a great moment on TV and could have salvaged this whole ordeal. Instead Will went the other way with it and lost a lot of respect from a lot of people. And don't forget, one of the reasons I'm sure the Smiths are on edge is all the drama that Jada brought on them with her Red Table Talk, airing out all their dirty laundry and leaving Will to be the butt of jokes. I can't imagine the love he has for that woman, because if my wife did that to me, I'm not sure we could go on.
Chris Rock did something that was dumb. Will Smith responded by doing something even dumber. End of story.
I am mixed on this, but I can’t agree with you here. I might be biased, but I grew up in my parents basement listening to my dad’s Red Foxx and Richard Pryor comedy albums. Thats the biz man….. If you are famous and in the spotlight, YOU ARE IN THE SPOTLIGHT! No justification to hit somebody unless it’s self defense in my opinion. I was raised on a school bus with kids cracking on eachother, their moms, holes in their shoes, fake IZOD shirts, NOTHING was off limits. Rule was, no fighting! Thats the code. In the hood we called in “stinging” on eachother. What Chris Rock said was rough, but not unheard of. Go back and watch Ricky Gervias’ hosting. As mad as you are, you can’t just hit people. Will NOT getting in trouble is going to look bad on the Academy.
Tell that to the kids that want to commit.suicide because of how much they have been bullied by others. Sometimes people need to be socked in the face to get it.
