I intentionally spell it that way all the time (especially when poasting sarcastically or tongue-in-cheek).

I've only spoken to 5-6 people today (besides those in my household), and all have brought this up.

I have watched the video for a 2nd time, as well as watched a couple of videos on YouTube on the subject. I still missed the joke even on the 2nd viewing. Probably because it was a bad joke, and I had no idea that the G.I. Jane 2 comment was about Jada's hair.

For me, sure it was a bad joke, but not worthy of violence against Chris Rock. My 2nd thought is. Will Smith's very first reaction, captured on the video, was to laugh along with the joke. Next thing he is walking onstage to "defend Jada's honor". Please, if your violence happened because of Jada and not your own first reaction, she clearly wears the pants in this family.

Also, after hearing about the Smith's "dirty laundry" that... they themselves air on podcasts, you see that the celebrities you thought were well adjusted people, was actually a false view of a pair of mentally ill people that clearly need therapy. Lots of freaking therapy. (No, I don't live under a rock. I literally don't follow celebrities, so I don't keep track of "who the hell they are bumping uglies with").

I still like all involved. But I now see both of the Smith's in a whole new light.

    https://deadline.com/2022/03/howard-stern-will-smith-chris-rock-slap-1234989259/

“Obviously, he’s got emotional problems,” said Howard Stern on this SiriusXM show today about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars last night. “Where’s security? This is a live television event. Not one person came out, because he’s Will Smith.”

“He decided he’s gonna take matters into his own hands — at a time when the world is at war. Bad timing, man. I mean, calm your f***ing a** down.”

“It shows where we are as human beings,” said co-host Robin Quivers. “Like, you can’t even say something in a room without a war breaking out.”

“This is a sign of great mental illness when you can’t control your impulse,” said Stern, who has been open about his own emotional issues.”

    ....

“Poor Chris Rock is a comedian and just trying to get through the day to make the f–king people laugh at that horrible ceremony,” Stern said.

“[Rock is] so fast comedy wise, he actually covered and made a joke and said, ‘Gee, best Oscars yet.’ “

Stern said, “You don’t hit people over speech, certainly not at the Academy Awards, and Will Smith’s got to contain himself.”

And if he couldn’t do that, contended the radio host, security should have intervened.

“Here’s Hollywood that’s so outraged by every little thing. Not one person got up and said, ‘Hold on, we got an out-of-control situation here.’

“How this guy was allowed to sit there for the rest of the awards, and he’s laughing it up and having a good time with his wife? What he did was he just assaulted Chris Rock.”

Needed to look something up, so I googled it. As soon as I typed in "Wha", the top four items were:

    - what did chris rock say
    - what is alopecia
    - what channel is the oscars on
    - what just happened on the oscars

The Academy is launching a full review of the incident. The governing body of the Academy held an emergency phone meeting to discuss whether to suspend Will Smith from the Academy or to take back his trophy.

Maybe Oscar can star in GI Jane 2.

I don't agree with taking back the trophy. He deservedly won it according to the Academy (whether you agree that he was best actor or not, it's subjective).

They will probably just suspend his membership. They have to do something.

Ding, ding ding! We have a winner!

I still think the whole thing was staged.

I must have missed something, because the clip I saw he laughed and she just rolled her eyes. A split second later he was already on stage.

After the "hit", Rock looked more like he was supressing a giggle than reacting to a shot to the face.

The response to speech you disagree with is more speech.

Now, if he went Trump and grabbed her by something personal....
